• Before cleaning the kettle, ensure it has been unplug. Do not immerse the

appliance in water, detergent or put into the dish washer.

• Clean the outside surface of the appliance with a damp cloth only. Never

use abrasive cleaner or thinner for the cleaning.

• Clean the filter with mild detergent and rinse thoroughly after removal from

the kettle.

• Wipe the kettle thoroughly with a damp cloth and ensure that all the elec

trical connections are completely dry out before using the kettle again.

• This appliance is maintenancefree.

DESCALING

• Scale build up will cause the element to overheat, reducing its working life.

It may also cause the safety cutout to operate prematurely, switching the

kettle off before the water boils.

• Scale removal can be done by using either of descaling product for kettle

which is available in most of the shop or 5% vinegar solution. Heat the

solution for a while, unplug the kettle and leave to stand for about half hour.

Pour away the acidic solution and rinse it thoroughly with clean water.

• The use of descalers containing phosphoric acid, sulphamic acid or simi

lar substances must not be used as they may damage the kettle.

MINIMIZE SCALE BUILDUP

Empty the kettle after each use; don't allow water to stand in the kettle

overnight; use filter water instead of ordinary tap water. Although stainless

steel heater plate can help to reduce the buildup of scale. However, periodic

descaling will maintain the best performance of the kettle. The descaling inter

vals depend on the hardness of your local water supply. Descaling may be

necessary as often as once a month in areas of very hard water.
