Inserting the Battery (Backup)
(Battery is not included with the device)
In case of a power cut or if the device is unplugged, with backup battery inserted, the set-
tings will be kept.
1. Open the battery compartment at the bottom. Remove for this the screw of the bat-
tery compartment lid with a Phillips screwdriver.
2. Insert one battery of the type CR2032, 3 V. Mind the correct polarity (
must be at the
top)!
3. Close the battery case. Secure the battery compartment lid again with the screw.
4. Ifthedeviceisnotusedforanextendedperiodoftime,removetheBatteryfromthe
device to avoid any leaking of battery acid.
CAUTION:
Batteries are not to be disposed of together with domestic wastes. Dispose of the used
batteries at the relevant collection bin or at your dealer’s.
WARNING:
Donotexposethebatteriestohightemperaturesordirectsunlight.Neverthrowbatter-
ies into the fire. There is a danger of explosion!
Power supply
• Insertthegridplugintoaproperlyinstalledthreeprongsocket.
• Makesurethegridvoltagecorrespondstotheguresontheratingplate.
• Ifyouhavenotinsertedabackupbattery,thestoredclocktimewillbelostassoonas
the power supply is interrupted.
Switching the Unit On/Off
Press the
button (9) to switch the unit on or off.
Volume
Adjust the volume with the
/ DISPLAY button (8) and / SENSOR BEEP (10).
Display Brightness
Use the SNOOZE/SLEEP / DIMMER button (4) to adjust the display brightness.
Turn off display light
If you are disturbed by even the lowest brightness setting of the light, you can turn it off.

Toggling the display
The following can be shown alternatingly on the display:

1. In order to activate this function, use the
button (9) to switch the device to standby.
2. Keep the / DISPLAY button (8) pressed, until “ ” appears briefly on the display.
Switch off toggling: To switch off Auto Toggle, keep the
/ DISPLAY button pressed
again in standby. “ ” appears briefly on the display.
NOTE:
Only the time is shown via the rotatable projector (20).
Temperature display
There are two options for displaying the current room temperature:
• BrieypresstheCLK.ADJ/TEMPbutton(5).
• PassyourhandovertheInfraredsensorsatadistanceof10cm(21).
Toggle temperature display between °C (Celsius) and °F (Fahrenheit)
Press the / DST/C-F button (7) whilst the temperature is displayed.
Display after using the infrared sensors
The following indicators are shown on the display if you pass your hand repeatedly over
the infrared sensors in standby.

The following indicators are shown on the display if you pass your hand repeatedly over
the infrared sensors when the device is in operation.

NOTE:

Turn the beep off/on when using the infrared sensors
A beep sounds when you pass your hand over the infrared sensors. If you want to turn off
the beep, proceed as follows:
1. Switch the device to standby using the
button (9).
2. Keep the /SENSOR BEEP button (10) pressed until “ ” is shown briefly on the
display.
Turn the beep on again: To switch the beep on again, keep the
/SENSOR BEEP button
pressed again. “ ” briefly appears on the display.
Restore Factory Defaults
Any malfunctions during operation can be rectified by pressing the Reset button.
• Pushthe(13)buttonwiththehelpofawireorasimilaritemtoresettheelectronics.
Setting the Clock
1. Use the button (9) to switch the device to standby.
2. Hold the CLK.ADJ / TEMP button (5) depressed until the year indication on the display
flashes.
• Nowyoucansettheyear,themonth,theday,thetimedisplayformat(12Hr/24Hr),
the hours, and the minutes with the buttons / DST/C-F (7) and / Y-M-D (6).
• Ineachcase,conrmtheinputwiththeCLK.ADJ/TEMPbutton.Thecurrent
indication to be set flashes on the display.
NOTE:
• Theinputisstoredautomaticallywithinapproximately30secondswhennobuttonis
pressed.
• Ifthetimeisdisplayedin12hourformat,thepointnexttoPMlightsup(18):
PM=Afternoon
• Settingoftheweekdayisdoneautomatically.Fortechnicalreasons,theweekday
cannot be shown on the display.
