TheASUSRT-N13WirelessRoutercanmeetvariousworkingscenarioswith
properconguration.Thedefaultsettingsofthewirelessroutermaychangeto

meetyourindividualneeds.Thus,beforeusingthewirelessrouter,checkthebasic
settingstoensurethattheyallworkinyourenvironment.
ASUSprovidesautilitynamedWPSforfastwirelessconguration.Ifyouwould
liketouseWPSforyourrouterconguration,refertochapter5ofusermanualin
support CD.
Note:
Wiredconnectionforinitialcongurationisrecommendedtoavoidpossible
setupproblemsduetowirelessuncertainty.
1) Wired connection
TheRT-N13WirelessRouterissuppliedwithanEthernetcableinthepackage.
Thewirelessrouterhasanintegratedauto-crossoverfunction.Thus,youcaneither
useastraight-throughoracrossovercableforwiredconnection.Plugoneendof
thecabletotheLANportontherearpaneloftherouterandtheotherendtothe
EthernetportonyourPC.
2) Wireless connection
Forestablishingwirelessconnection,youneedanIEEE802.11b/g/ncompatible
WLANcard.Refertoyourwirelessadapterusermanualforwirelessconnection
procedures.Bydefault,theSSIDofthewirelessrouteris“default”(inlowercase),
encryptionisdisabledandopensystemauthenticationisused.
3) Setting IP address for wired or wireless client
ToaccesstheRT-N13WirelessRouter,youmusthavethecorrectTCP/IPsettings
onyourwiredorwirelessclients.SettheIPaddressesoftheclientswithinthe
samesubnetofRT-N13.
Getting an IP address automatically
TheRT-N13WirelessRouterintegratesDHCPserverfunctions,thus,yourPCgets
anIPaddressautomatically.
Note:
BeforerebootingyourPC,switchONthewirelessrouterandensurethatthe
routerisready.
