Connecting network devices
Toconnectnetworkdevicestotheswitch.
1.ConnectoneendoftheEthernetcabletoanEthernetportonthebackofthe
switch.ConnecttheotherendtotheEthernetportonthenetworkdevice.Repeat
thissteptoconnectadditionalnetworkdevices.
• UseCategory5(CAT5)Ethernetstraight-throughcablestoensureproper
connectionbetweentheswitchandothernetworkdevices.
• Thelengthofthenetworkcablesshouldnotexceed100meters(328feet).
2. PlugtheACadaptertoanelectricaloutlet,thenplugtheotherendtothepower
connectoronthebackoftheswitch.
3. Thepowerindicatorandactiveportindicatorswilllightupindicatingthatthe
deviceisturnedONandinuse.
Troubleshooting
Thistroubleshootingguideprovidesanswerstosomecommonproblemsthatyou
mayencounterwhileinstallingand/orusingtheswitch.Theseproblemsrequire
somesimpletroubleshootingthatyoucanperformbyyourself.Contactyourretailer
ifyouencounterproblemsthatarenotmentionedhere.
The POWER indicator does not light up.
• Checkifthepowercableisproperlyconnectedtotheswitch,andtoan
electricaloutletwiththecorrectvoltageoutput.
The STATUS indicator does not light up even after an Ethernet cable
is connected.
• CheckiftheEthernetcableisproperlyconnectedtotheswitchandtothe
networkdevice.
• EnsurethattheswitchandyournetworkdevicesareturnedON.
• CheckiftheEthernetcablesupportsyournetworkspeed.Ensurethatyou
areusingatleastCategory5cables.Youcanuselowerqualitycablesif
yournetworkspeedisonly10Mbps.
