1.2 Mite insulation layer and mite-proof bed border

The mite insulation layer, a PUR membrane integrated directly under the cotton surface and

the mite-proof bed border reduce your contact to the allergy-causing dust mites and their ex-

crement. In addition, this special finish also helps reduce mites by cutting them off from their

supply of food.

1.3 Heat

You can specifically fight mite populations that already exist with our heat underblanket. The

temperature you produce by setting the switch to level 6 (“anti-allergy” level) of the heat un-

derblanket dries your mattress, and therefore creates a “mite-hostile” micro-climate on the

mattress surface.

We recommend you use the “anti-allergy” level regularly. Ideally, the heat underblanket should

be operated for several hours. The automatic switch-off time of 12 hours is especially well-

suited for this purpose. To prevent the heat from escaping, the heat underblanket should be

completely covered during this process.

2. Important safety information –

read carefully and keep for

later use

Failure to observe the information provided below can lead to personal injury or material da-

mage (electric shock, skin burns, fire). The following safety and hazard information not only

serves to protect your health and the health of others, it also protects the product from dama-

ge. Therefore, observe this safety information and pass on these instructions together with the

product.

• Use this electric underblanket only for the purpose described in these instructions for use.

• This electric underblanket is not intended for use in hospitals.

• The anti-allergenic underblanket is not intended for use by persons (including children) with

restricted physical, sensory or mental capabilities and/or by persons lacking the required un-

derstanding of the equipment and how it is used, unless they are supervised by a person who

is responsible for their safety.

• Do not use the electric underblanket for incapacitated or heat-insensitive persons or for in-

fants.

stances, interfere with the function of your heart pacemaker. They are, however, well below

the limits: electrical field strength: max. 5000 V/m, magnetic field strength: max. 80 A/m ma-

gnetic flux density: max. 0.1 milli-tesla. For this reason, please consult your doctor and the

manufacturer of your heart pacemaker before using this product.

• On each occasion before use, check that the electric underblanket is lying completely flat on

the mattress.

• The electric underblanket

– must be connected only to the voltage stated on the blanket;

– should only be operated with the switch indicated on the anti-allergenic underblanket

(label).

– must not be switched on when it is folded or creased;

– must not be tucked into the bed or wrapped around the mattress;

11

– must not be squeezed (particularly in the case of tilted beds or divided mattresses);

– must not be tightly folded;

– must not be used for animals;

– the switch must not be covered by blankets, pillows etc. or be placed on the blanket.

• Do not pull, twist or sharply bend the cables.

• Do not pierce the electric underblanket with needles or pointed objects.

• This electric underblanket must not be used by children unless the switch has been preset by

their parents or carers, or the child has been adequately instructed in how to use the electric

underblanket.

• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not use the anti-allergenic underblanket

as a toy.

• The electric underblanket must be checked frequently for signs of wear or damage. If any

such signs are found or if the blanket has been improperly used, it must be sent in to the ma-

nufacturer or dealer before it is used again.

• If the mains connection cable of the anti-allergenic underblanket is damaged, it must be re-

placed by the manufacturer, its customer service department or a similarly qualified person to

avoid any risk.

• Repairs must be carried out only by skilled persons or a repairer authorized by the manuf-

acturer, as special tools are required. Improper repairs can result in considerable danger to

users.

• If you have any further questions concerning the use of our products, please contact our cu-

stomer service or visit our website www.beurer.com.

3. Proper Use

This anti-allergenic underblanket is designed for warming beds. This anti-allergenic underblan-

ket is not intended for use in hospitals or for commercial applications.

In particular, it may not be used for infants, small children, persons insensitive to heat, helpless

persons or animals.

4.1 Safety

The anti-allergenic underblanket is equipped with a SAFETY SYSTEM. This electronic sensor

technology prevents the entire surface of the anti-allergenic underblanket from overheating by

automatically switching off in the event of a fault.

If the safety system switches off the anti-allergenic underblanket automatically as a result of

a fault, the temperature level indicator lamp on the switch is no longer illuminated even when

the anti-allergenic underblanket is switched on. Please note that, after a fault has occurred, the

anti-allergenic underblanket can no longer be used for safety reasons and must be sent to the

service address indicated.

12

4.2 Putting into operation

We recommend that you vacuum off your mattress before using the heat

underblanket for the first time. Then spread out the heat underblanket flat

on your mattress so that the cable entrance is located approximately at

shoulder height (see illustration). The head area of the anti-allergy under-

blanket is not heated.

Then pull the side section over the sides of your mattress like a contour

sheet. The under blanket is designed to fit mattresses of the size 35x80 in

(90x200 cm) and 38x80 in (100x200 cm). The head section is not heated.

If the cable length is insufficient, you can order a longer power supply cord

with the material number 108.494 from our specified Customer Service.

Then secure your contour sheet as accustomed so that the heat underblan-

ket is between your mattress and the contour sheet.

Make sure that the heat underblanket is always spread out flat and does not push together or

wrinkle during use. Check its position when making the bed. The heat underblanket may only

be switched on when it is spread out flat. We recommend switching on the heat

underblanket and covering it with the quilt for approx. 15 minutes before going to bed to pre-

vent the heat from escaping. This heat underblanket may only be operated in conjunction with

the switch type specified on the unit.

never lie on the electric underblanket or be covered by blankets, pillows etc.

4.3 Temperature selection

Before operating the anti-allergenic underblanket for the first time, connect the switch with the

anti-allergenic underblanket by joining the plug-in connector. Then plug the power cord into the

mains outlet.

You will obtain the most rapid heating-up of the electric underblanket by first setting the high-

est temperature level. For use over several hours, we recommend that you select the lowest

temperature level.

1 = Minimum heat

2–5 = Individual heat

6 = Maximum heat and “anti-allergy” level

4.5 Automatic switch-off function

With this heat underblanket an automatic switch-off after approx. 2, 6, 9 or 12 hrs. can be set.

The red signal lamp in the switch lights up while the heat underblanket is being heated. After

the switch-off time expires, the heat underblanket is no longer heated and the red signal lamp

beings to flash.

To heat the heat underblanket again, first set the switch to the switch setting “0” (off) for ap-

prox. 5 seconds and then select the desired temperature setting. If the heat underblanket is no

longer used after the timed switch-off, it should be switched off (level “0”) or the power plug

should be pulled out of the socket outlet.

5. Cleaning and care

Before cleaning the anti-allergenic underblanket, always unplug

it from the mains and remove the plug-in connection together

with the switch from the anti-allergenic underblanket (see illus-

tration).

Small spots can be removed with a cloth or damp sponge and if ne-

cessary a little mild liquid detergent.

This heat underblanket is machine-washable.

Set the washing machine to a delicate washing cycle at 60 °C. Use a

mild detergent with dosage according to the manufacturer’s instruc-

tions. Note that the electric underblanket will suffer from too frequent washing. For its entire

life, therefore, the electric underblanket should be washed not more than 5 times in a washing

machine.

Note that the electric underblanket must not be dry cleaned, wrung out, machine dried or

ironed.  Do not hang up the

electric underblanket with clothes pegs or similar to dry it.

Only reconnect the switch to the electric underblanket after the plug connection and the elec-

tric underblanket are completely dry.

6. Storage

If you are not using the electric underblanket for a long period of time, we recommend that you

keep it in its original packaging in a dry place with no weight placed on it.

Allow the anti-allergenic underblanket to cool down beforehand.

7. Disposal

Please dispose of the blanket in accordance with the directive 2002/96/EG – WEEE

(Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). If you have any queries, please refer to the

local authorities responsible for waste disposal.
