IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

To avoid breakdown during use read this guide carefully before operating the appliance. Mishandling can

cause breakdown of the appliance.

Only for private use. The appliance is not designed for industrial or commercial use.

Do not lubricate the built-in mechanism of the scale.

Do not expose the scale to shocking.

Do not overload the scale.

If the product has been exposed to temperatures below 0ºC for some time it should be kept at room

temperature for at least 2 hours before turning it on.

The manufacturer reserves the right to introduce minor changes into the product design without prior notice,

unless such changes influence significantly the product safety, performance, and functions.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS.

ATTENTION: If the glass surface is wet or covered with the drops of water, wipe the appliance dry to avoid

falling.

Handle the appliance with care as it is a precision measurement mechanism. Do not drop the appliance or

jump on it.

When carrying or storing the appliance leave it in a flat position.

The body fat analyzer is not suitable for the following categories of consumers:

Children under 10 years and adults over 80 years of age.

Persons with the following symptoms: fever, oedema, osteoporosis.

Persons undergoing dialysis.

Persons using a pacemaker.

Persons taking cardiovascular medication.

Pregnant women

Athletes performing intensive vigorous exercise over 5 hours a day.

Persons with heart rate of under 60 beats per minute.

Attention: Not recommended for people using a pacemaker or any other medical implant with electronic

components. This could threaten the output ratio of the implant and deteriorate its performance.

The appliance operates properly only when you step on it with bare dry feet.

PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION

The principle behind this scale is bioelectrical impedance analysis (B.I.A.). The measurement of the

percentage of different tissues occurs within seconds with electric current, which is not perceptible for a

human, safe and harmless. Based on the results of the electrical impedance measurement, a number of

human body constants and individual features (age, height, sex) it is possible to determine the percentage of

body fat and other parameters of a human body.

Muscular tissue and water are characterized by good electric conductivity, and thus – insignificant electrical

resistance.

On the contrary, bones and adipose tissue possess low electric conductivity, as fatty tissue cells and bones do

not virtually conduct electric current due to extremely high resistance.

One should keep in mind that the measurements obtained with diagnostic scale provide only rough, imperfect

data as compared to the results of real medical tests. Only a healthcare professional employing medical

methods (for example, computer tomography) can determine the percentage of body fat, water, muscle mass

and bones accurately.

If, when measuring the percentage of fat, muscle tissue, bone and water content, the obtained sum of all

components has become greater than 100%, this is not a sign of scale defect. It can be explained from the

physiological point of view. Operation of the diagnostic scale is based on the analysis of bioimpedance, which

determines the amount of fat and water in muscle and bone tissues themselves. Thus the variation of different

parameters should be taken into account separately from each other, without summarizing the obtained

results.

OPERATION

GETTING STARTED

Open a special battery compartment at the bottom of the scale, remove the protective film. Close the

compartment. The scale is ready to operate.

By default the scale is set to kilos «kg». There is a switch on the rear panel of the scale, for selecting pounds

«lb» as units of measurement.

Place the scale onto a firm level surface. Do not place the scale on soft carpets.

Push ON to switch the scale on.

Wait for some seconds until "0.0 kg” is displayed.

If you step on the scale before “0.0” appear, the “Err” message will appear on the display. In this case step off

the scale, wait until it switches off and switch it on again.

ENTERING PERSONAL DATA

Push the SET button. An available storage location will be displayed – a user name, for example USER 01.

Confirm your choice by pushing SET or select another free user by pushing UP/DOWN buttons, for example,

USER 02. Push SET to change to other settings.

Then a symbol “a man” or “a woman” will light up. Confirm your choice by pushing the SET button or select

your sex by pushing UP/DOWN buttons. Push SET to change to other settings.

Similarly specify age and height parameters.

All set values will light up on the display for confirmation.

When 0.0 kg lights up on the display, you can:

Push SET to reenter the parameters.

Fill in the remaining storage locations. In total 10 storage locations are available – for 10 users.

Push SET to change the set parameters.

Begin weighing.

WEIGHING

To ensure correct measurement results, please, take off footwear and socks before getting on the scale.

Step on the scale. Do not lean against anything, stand straight.

Attention: during measurement there must be no contact between both feet, calves, shanks or thighs.

Otherwise, the measurement cannot be performed properly.

Stand still during weighing until the reading settles.

MEASUREMENT OF WEIGHT, BODY FAT, WATER PERCENTAGE

Select the storage location with your data by pushing UP/DOWN buttons.

When 0.0 kg is displayed stand with both feet on the surface of the scale.

First your weight will appear on the display, and then the analysis will begin. Stand on the scale until the

process is completed.

In several seconds you will see the following information, which will display one by one:

Body fat percentage

Body water percentage,

Muscle mass percentage,

Bone mass percentage

While the body fat percentage is displayed, estimated rates will appear at the bottom of the display. They tell

you how fit you are at the moment (see the table)

UNDERFAT – not enough fat

HEALTHY - norm

OVERFAT – excess fat

OBESE – obesity

After that the set-up parameters will light up again, and then the scale will shut down automatically.
