5 Operation

Always switch the machine off before con-

necting or disconnecting the mains power

cable!

.

The switch

[1-2]

is an on/off switch (press = ON, re-

lease = OFF).

The locking button

[1-1]

 can be engaged to operate

in continuous mode. Press the switch again to re-

lease the knob.

6 Working with the machine

For work that generates dust, wear a dust

mask.

Before commencing peeling, it is useful to cut the

carpets in lengths so that the guide rolls them up

during the removal process.

The most favourable working angle

[1]

 between the

carpet knife

[2-3]

and the surface of the floor de-

pends on the covering to be removed and the struc-

ture of the floor beneath it. Angles between 10 and

30° usually provide the best results.

When working in small areas, in corners, on stairs

or in narrow spaces, the machine is usually hand

held. Work in large areas is made easier when the

handle (see "8.1 Handle") is used.

7 Service and maintenance

The machine is equipped with special carbon

brushes. If they are worn, the power is interrupted

automatically and the machine comes to a stand-

still.

To ensure constant air circulation, always keep the

cooling air openings in the motor housing clean and

free of blockages.
