Preparing the pit
Preparing the pit
The pit must be 300 mm deeper than the planned installation. Allow suitable distance between the sides of the tank and the walls of
the pit. When installing in clayey, granulous or muddy ground, place a geotextile fabric around all the surfaces of the pit to prevent
the filling material from mixing with the soil (see section 12.1).

Filling the pit
Filling the pit
Filling the pit
Filling the pit
When filling the pit, always make sure the tank is vertical.
The granulometry of the filling material must range from 2 to 36 mm. Fill the pit before the surface of the water table reaches the
level of the filling material. Consult section 12.2.
1.
Place a 300 mm (A) thick layer of filling material at the bottom of the pit. Compact and level the surface. Install the tank.
2.
Place a layer of filling material up to a minimum height of 700 mm (B). Place and compact the remaining filling material in
layers with a maximum thickness of 50 mm. The upper part of the pit (C) must not contain stones larger than 50 mm.
For difficult terrain (impervious, clayey) or in the presence of water tables, the bottom of the pit must comprise a 200 mm thick layer
of concrete. Also apply a concrete stabilisation layer around the tank. Consult section 12.1.

Hydraulic connections
Hydraulic connections may only be performed by qualified staff in compliance with current regulations.
Depending on the type of installation and current local regulations, it may be necessary to fit a trap, check valve and/or tap on the
pipe connecting the system to the public/private sewer or on other pipes. Always refer to current local and/or national regulations,
laws and standards. It is always best to fit a check valve and an on/off valve upline and downline from the station. An installation
example is shown in section 12.11.
All the pipes must be installed in such a way that they are not subject to stress. The pipes must not stress the
tank. Make sure the electric pumps are correctly installed on the descent line and that all the hydraulic
connections are tightened and watertight.
Where necessary, use suitable systems to prevent the transmission of vibrations and to protect the piping from icing up.

Connect the outlet piping of the tank to the piping connected to the sewage duct using the threaded/smooth PVC sleeve for gluing
(consult section 12.4). Fit a flexible union between the tank and the piping connected to the sewage duct to prevent breakages
caused by ground settlement. Fit a non-return valve on the piping connection to the public/private sewer. This will prevent
backwash. Always refer to current local and/or national regulations, laws and standards.
