en For your safety.

Read all safety warnings and all instruc-

tions.

Failure to follow the warnings

and instructions may result in electric

shock, fire and/or serious injury.

Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.

Do not use this power tool before you have thor-

oughly read and completely understood this

Instruction Manual and the enclosed “General

Safety Instructions” (document number

3 41 30 054 06 1). The documents mentioned should be

kept for later use and enclosed with the power tool,

should it be passed on or sold.

Please also observe the relevant national industrial safety

regulations.

Intended use of the power tool:

Hand-guided construction cutter for commercial use for

dry cutting of plaster, masonry, cement, tiles and metal

bracing in weather-protected environments using the

application tools and accessories recommended by FEIN.

This machine is also intended to be powered by a.c. gen-

erators with sufficient power output that correspond

with ISO 8528, design class G2. Compliance with this

Standard in particular is not given when the so-called dis-

tortion factor exceeds 10%. When in doubt, inform

yourself about the generator in use.

Safety warnings for construction cutters

Application tools must at least be designed for the speed

listed on the power tool.

Application tools running with

excess speed can burst and cause injuries.

Always use the wheel guard.

A wheel guard protects the

user against broken off parts of the application tool and

against accidental touching of the application tool.

Kickback and related warnings

Kickback is the sudden reaction to a pinched or snagged

rotating application tool (diamond wheel). Pinching or

snagging causes rapid stalling of the rotating application

tool. This causes an uncontrolled power tool to be

forced in the direction opposite of the application tool's

rotation direction at the point of binding.

For example, if a diamond wheel is snagged or pinched in

the work piece, the edge of the diamond wheel that is

entering into the work piece can be caught, causing the

diamond wheel to break out or cause kickback. The dia-

mond wheel may either jump toward or away from the

operator, depending on the direction of the wheel at the

point of blocking. Diamond wheels can also break under

these conditions.

Kickback is the result of power tool misuse or incorrect

operating procedures. It can be avoided by taking proper

precautions as described below.

Maintain a firm grip on the power tool and position your

body and arm to allow you to resist kickback forces. Always

use auxiliary handle, if provided, for maximum control over

kickback or torque reaction during start-up.

 The operator

can control torque reactions or kickback forces, if proper

precautions are taken.

Never place your hand near the rotating accessory.

 Acces-

sory may kickback over your hand.

Do not position your body in the area where the power tool

will move if kickback occurs.

Kickback will propel the

power tool in the direction opposite to the diamond

wheel’s movement at the point of blocking.

Use special care when working corners, sharp edges, etc.

Avoid bouncing and snagging the accessory.

 Corners,

sharp edges or bouncing have a tendency to snag the

rotating accessory and cause loss of control or kickback.

Do not attach a saw chain woodcarving blade or toothed

saw blade.

Such blades create frequent kickback and loss

of control over the power tool.

Additional safety warnings

Guide the power tool toward the work piece only when

switched on.

Danger of kickback when the application

tool becomes wedged in the work piece.

Do not use accessories which are not specifically designed

and recommended by the tool manufacturer.

 Just because

the accessory can be attached to your power tool, it does

not assure safe operation.

Even in replacement cases, use only original FEIN diamond

wheels with the special retainer.

Mount the new diamond

wheel using only the provided new fastening screws.

Do not use damaged or worn application tools. Before each

use, check the application tool for chips and cracks. If the

machine or application tool is dropped, inspect for damage

or install an undamaged application tool. After inspecting

and installing the application tool, position yourself and

bystanders away from the plane of the rotating application

tool and run the power tool at maximum no-load speed for

one minute.

Damaged application tools will normally

break apart during this test time.

Wear personal protective equipment. Depending on appli-

cation, use face shield, safety goggles or safety glasses. As

appropriate, wear dust mask, hearing protectors, gloves

and workshop apron capable of stopping small abrasive or

workpiece fragments.

The eye protection must be capable

of stopping flying debris generated by various operations.

The dust mask or respirator must be capable of filtrating

particles generated by your operation. Prolonged expo-

sure to high intensity noise may cause hearing loss.

Keep bystanders a safe distance away from work area. Any-

one entering the work area must wear personal protective

equipment.

Fragments of workpiece or of a broken acces-

sory may fly away and cause injury beyond immediate

area of operation.

Hold power tool by insulated gripping surfaces only, when

performing an operation where the cutting accessory may

contact hidden wiring or its own cord.

 Cutting accessory

contacting a “live” wire may make exposed metal parts of

the power tool “live” and shock the operator.

Position the cord clear of the spinning accessory.

 If you

lose control of the power tool, the cord may be cut or

snagged and your hand or arm may be pulled into the

spinning accessory.

Never lay the power tool down until the accessory has come

to a complete stop.

The spinning accessory may grab the

surface and pull the power tool out of your control.

Do not run the power tool while carrying it at your side.

Accidental contact with the spinning accessory could snag

your clothing, pulling the accessory into your body.
