FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY

•  Read and save the enclosed safety instructions.

•  Avoid damage that can be caused by screws, nails and other elements 

in your workpiece.

•  Always keep the cord away from moving parts of your tool.

•  When you put away your tool, switch off the motor and ensure that all 

moving parts have come to a complete standstill.

•  Always use diamond cutting wheels with this tool.

•  Do not use a diamond cutting wheel which is cracked or deformed.

•  After switching off your wall chaser, never stop the rotation of the 

diamond cutting wheel by a lateral force applied against it.

•  Ensure that the cutting depth adjustment handle is always

•  Only use the

 anges and washers which are supplied with the tool.

•  Do not cut material containing asbestos.

•  This tool is not suitable for wet cutting.

HOW TO HANDLE

• 

Mounting/removing of diamond cutting wheels (see 

fi

 g. 1).

-  while loosening/tightening bolt A with wrench B spindlelock button 

C should be pushed.

Change diamond cutting wheels with arrow printed on cutting 

wheels pointing in same direction as arrow on protection 

guard.

  Always leave inner 

fl

 ange D on tool.

  Make sure that clamping surfaces of 

fl

 anges and washers are 

perfectly clean.

-  check if diamond cutting wheels run freely by turning them by 

hand.

• 

Adjusting cutting depth (see 

fi

 g. 2).

-  for reaching maximum cutting depth in concrete, 3 subsequent 

cuts are required: 15 mm, 30 mm and 48 mm.

Keep in mind that due to wear of the diamond cutting wheel, 

cutting depth may differ.

-  for easy adjustment of cutting depth you should align the material, 

for which you intend to make the groove, with front and back 

guiding rolls (not in between the diamond cutting wheels) and 

adjust the cutting depth according to the material’s diameter.

•  Before using your tool a RIDGID vacuum cleaner should be connected 

to integrated adapter E.

  Ensures reaching the maximum speed smoothly without a sudden 

impact when tool is switched on.

Cutting vertical grooves (see 

fi

 g. 3).

-  put front guiding rolls H at the top of the wall section to be cut.

-  make sure that handle J points downwards.

-  switch on your tool.

-  wait until maximum speed has been reached.

-  enter diamond cutting wheels gently into the wall until back guiding 

rolls K also rest on the wall.

-  gently move tool downwards.

•  Electronic overload protection.

-  protects motor from damage when tool is overloaded without 

having to stop it and/or let it cool down for a period of time.

-  as soon as reduction of motor speed is noticed you should reduce 

pressure until speed is back to normal.

•  Holding and guiding the tool (see 

fi

 g. 4).

-  the tool can be guided in all directions.

  Always follow cutting direction indicated by arrow on 

protection guard.

  Keep all 4 guiding rolls on the wall during cutting.

-  hold the tool 

fi

 rmly, so you will have full control of the tool at all 

times.

-  do not apply too much pressure on the tool.

•  Keep the air vent openings clean and uncovered.

•  Adjusting groove width.

  Sixteen different groove widths can be obtained by adjustment of the 

washers as shown at the back of this instruction manual.

  Always make trial cuts

•  Before lifting your tool from the workpiece, you should switch off the 

motor and ensure that all moving parts have come to a complete 

standstill.

•  Do not force the tool; let the speed on the diamond cutting wheel do 

the work.

-  the working speed of the diamond cutting wheel depends on the 

material to be cut.

-  cutting performance will not improve by applying more pressure on 

the tool.

-  frequent forcing may lead to activating the overload protection and 

the need for sharpening of the diamond cutting wheels.

•  Mount only one diamond cutting wheel on the wall chaser for:

-  mounting of lead sheathing.

-  using it as a chop saw.

MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLE SHOOTING

•  Keep tool and cord clean.

Some household cleaning products and solvents can damage 

plastic parts; these products include benzine, trichloroethelene, 

chloride, ammonia.

•  Excessive sparking mostly indicates the presence of dirt in the motor 

or worn-out carbon brushes.

•  In case of electrical or mechanical malfunction, immediately switch off 

the tool and disconnect the plug.

•  In case of an electrical defect, hand in tool at a RIDGID Service Centre 

for repair.

•  Have the diamond cutting wheels sharpened by a specialist.

ZUR EIGENEN SICHERHEIT

den Stecker heraus.

•  Bevor Sie Zubehör benutzen, vergleichen Sie bitte immer die 

maximal zulässige Drehzahl des jeweiligen Zubehörs mit der Ihres 

Werkzeuges.

•  Niemals einen Zubehörschlüssel mit Schnur oder etwas ähnlichem am 

Werkzeug befestigen.

•  Benutzen Sie das Werkzeug niemals ohne den Original-Schutz.

•  Vermeiden Sie Verletzungen, indem Sie persönliche 

Schutzausrüstung, wie Schutzbrille, Gehörschutz, 

Sicherheitshandschuhe, Sicherheitsschuhe, u.s.w. verwenden.

•  Gebrochene oder verformte Diamant-Trennscheiben dürfen nicht 

verwendet werden.

•  Diamant-Trennscheiben dürfen nach dem Ausschalten der 

Mauerschlitzfräse nicht durch seitliches Gegendrücken gebremst 

werden.

•  Achten Sie darauf, dass beim Arbeiten der Schnitttiefen-Einstellhebel 

immer festgestellt ist.

•  Benutzen Sie ausschließlich die mit dem Werkzeug gelieferten 

Flansche und Ringe.

•  Keine asbesthaltigen Materialien schneiden.

•  Dieses Werkzeug ist zum Nass-Schneiden nicht geeignet.

HANDHABUNG

• 

Montieren/Entfernen der Diamant-Trennscheiben (siehe Abb. 1).

-  während Schraube A mit Schraubenschlüssel B gelöst/angezogen 

wird, muss Spindelarretierung C gedrückt werden.

Beim Wechseln der Diamant-Trennscheiben muss der Pfeil an 

den Scheiben in die gleiche Richtung weisen, wie der Pfeil auf 

der Schutzvorrichtung.

  Achten Sie darauf, dass die Klemm

 ächen von Flanschen und 

Ringen vollkommen sauber sind.

-  prüfen Sie durch Drehen von Hand, ob die Diamant-Trennscheibe 

frei läuft.

• 

Einstellung der Schnitttiefe (siehe Abb. 2).

-  um die maximale Schnitttiefe in Beton zu erreichen, sind 3 

aufeinander folgende Schnitte erforderlich: 15 mm, 30 mm und 

48 mm.

Bedenken Sie, dass durch Verschleiß der Diamant- 

Trennscheibe die Schnitttiefe abweichen könnte.

-  zur problemlosen Einstellung der Schnitttiefe sollten Sie 

das Material, in das Sie einen Schlitz schneiden wollen, mit 

den vorderen und hinteren Führungsrollen ausrichten (nicht 

zwischen den Diamant-Trennscheiben) und die Schnitttiefe dem 

Materialdurchmesser entsprechend einstellen.

•  Vor Inbetriebnahme des Werkzeuges sollten Sie einen RIDGID 

Staubsauger an den integrierten Adapter E anschließen.

• Sicherheitsschalter.

  Vermeidet das versehentliche Einschalten des Werkzeugs.

-  das Werkzeug wird eingeschaltet, indem man zuerst Knopf F mit 

dem Daumen drückt und anschließend Auslöser G mit den Fingern 

betätigt.

-  das Werkzeug wird ausgeschaltet, indem man Auslöser G loslässt.

• Elektronischer 

Sanftanlauf.

  Gewährleistet das Erreichen der Maximaldrehzahl ohne den 

plötzlichen Ruck beim Einschalten des Werkzeugs.

• 

Schneiden von vertikalen Schlitzen (siehe Abb. 3).

-  legen Sie die vorderen Führungsrollen H oben an den 

Wandabschnitt an, in den der Schlitz gefräst werden soll.

-  vergewissern Sie sich, dass der Handgriff J nach unten weist.

-  schalten Sie Ihr Werkzeug ein.

-  warten Sie, bis die Maximaldrehzahl erreicht ist.

-  führen Sie die Diamant-Trennscheibe langsam in die Mauer ein, 

bis die hinteren Führungsrollen K auch auf der Mauer au

fl

 iegen.

-  bewegen Sie das Werkzeug vorsichtig nach unten.

• Elektronischer 

Überlastungsschutz.

-  schützt den Motor vor Schaden, wenn das Werkzeug überlastet 

wird, ohne dass Sie die Arbeit unterbrechen und/oder den Motor 

abkühlen lassen müssen.

-  sobald Sie einen Rückgang der Motordrehzahl bemerken, sollten 

Sie weniger Druck auf Ihr Werkzeug ausüben, bis die Drehzahl 

wieder normal ist.

•  Halten und Führen des Werkzeuges (siehe Abb. 4).

-  das Werkzeug kann in alle Richtungen geführt werden.

  Achten Sie auf die Schnittrichtung, die auf der 

Schutzvorrichtung angegeben ist.

  Halten Sie beim Arbeiten alle 4 Führungsrollen an der Wand.

-  halten Sie das Werkzeug fest, um es stets unter Kontrolle zu 

haben.

-  nicht zuviel Druck auf das Werkzeug ausüben.

•  Halten Sie die Luftschlitze sauber und offen.

• Einstellung 

der 

Schlitzbreite.

  Sechzehn verschiedene Schlitzbreiten können durch Einstellung der 

Ringe gewählt werden, wie auf der Rückseite dieser Anleitung gezeigt.

• 

Richtpunkt zum Führen des Werkzeugs entlang der Schnittlinie 

(siehe Abb. 5).

  Immer erst einen Probeschnitt zur Kontrolle durchführen.

•  Bevor Sie Ihr Werkzeug vom Werkstück abheben, sollten Sie den 

Motor abstellen und sich vergewissern, dass alle bewegenden Teile 

völlig zum Stillstand gekommen sind.

BEDIENUNGSHINWEISE

•  Üben Sie nicht zu viel Druck auf das Werkzeug aus; nutzen Sie die 

Drehzahl der Diamant-Trennscheibe.

-  die Drehzahl richtet sich nach dem zu bearbeitenden Material.

-  stärkerer Druck auf das Werkzeug verbessert das Schnittergebnis 

nicht.

-  dauernder Druck kann zu Aktivierung des Überlastungsschutzes 

und zu schnellen Abstumpfen der Diamant-Trennscheiben führen.

•  Montieren Sie nur eine Diamant-Trennscheibe auf die 

Mauerschlitzfräse zum:

-  Verlegen von Bleiummantelung.

-  Verwenden als Kappsäge.

WARTUNG UND FEHLERBEHEBUNG

•  Halten Sie Werkzeug und Kabel sauber.

Einige Haushaltsreiniger und Lösungsmittel können die 

Kunststoffteile beschädigen; zu diesen Produkten gehören u.a. 

Benzin, Trichlorethylen, Chlor, Amonniak.

•  Übermäßige Funkenbildung weist meist auf Schmutz im Motor oder 

verschlissene Kohlebürsten hin.

•  Schalten Sie das Werkzeug bei elektrischer oder mechanischer 

Fehlfunktion sofort ab und ziehen Sie den Stecker heraus.

•  Lassen Sie bei elektrischen Defekten das Werkzeug von einem 

RIDGID Servicecenter reparieren.

•  Lassen Sie die Diamant-Trennscheiben von einem Spezialisten 

schärfen.
