Recording a source
4 Rotate VOLUME on the front panel (or press
VOLUME +/– on the remote control) to adjust
the sound output level of the selected source

• The VOLUME, BASS, TREBLE, BALANCE and
LOUDNESS controls and the CD DIRECT AMP and the PURE
DIRECT buttons have no effect on the source being recorded.
• Check the copyright laws in your country to record from
records, CDs, radio, etc. Recording copyright-protected
material may infringe on copyright laws.

that you are watching or listening to, selecting another source
with the INPUT selector on the front panel (or the corresponding

You can monitor the sound and/or picture being recorded by
rotating the INPUT selector on the front panel (or pressing MD/
TAPE or VCR on the remote control) to select the MD recorder,
the tape deck or the VCR used for recording.
To record the current input source that you are
watching or listening to, set the REC OUT selector to
SOURCE.
To record a source other than the one that you are
watching or listening to, set the REC OUT selector to
the source you want to record.
