Important safety instructions

Before the appliance is used, the main

body as well as any fitted attachment

should be checked thoroughly for any

defects. If the appliance, for instance, has

been dropped onto a hard surface, it

must no longer be used:  even invisible

damage may have adverse effects on the

operational safety of the appliance.

Children are not aware of the dangers

that may occur when operating electrical

appliances. Therefore keep such

appliances away from children.

Do not leave the appliance unattended

while in use.

For safety reasons, use the pestle at all

times when feeding fruit or vegetables

into the feeder tube. Under no

circumstances use your hands or fingers.

The mains indicator light remains on

while the appliance is connected to mains

power.

After switching off, always wait until the

motor has come to a complete standstill

before opening the lid.

Do not allow the appliance or its power

cord to touch hot surfaces or to come

into contact with any heat sources.

Always remove the plug from the wall

socket

-

after use,

-

in case of any malfunction,

-

before cleaning the appliance.

When removing the plug from the wall

socket, never pull on the power cord;

always grip the plug itself. Do not let the

power cord hang free.

Do not operate the appliance if the

rotating filter and grating plate insert

shows any kind of damage.

No responsibility will be accepted if

damage results from improper use, or if

these instructions are not complied with.

This appliance is only intended for

domestic use and not for commercial

applications.

In order to comply with safety

regulations and to avoid hazards, repairs

Useful information

- To position it firmly, we recommend

pressing the appliance lightly down onto

the work surface before use;  this will

ensure that the suction feet are firmly

attached to the surface.

- This appliance allows natural, vitamin-

4

Juicer

rich juices to be extracted from fruit and

vegetables.

- To preserve the maximum vitamin

content, the juices are best drunk fresh, ie

immediately after extraction.

To store, place the fresh juice in the

refrigerator in a covered container.

- It is advisable to use glass or plastic

containers, since metal containers might

affect the taste.

- After cleaning, cut up the fruit or

vegetable so that it fits down the feeder

tube. Before extracting juice from fruit or

vegetables with stones, please remove

any stones to prevent damage to the

appliance;  in addition, removing the

cores optimises the juice extraction.

- The following fruits and vegetables are

not suitable for juice extraction:  figs,

grapes, avocados, aubergines,

raspberries, blackberries, currants,

elderberries, rhubarb, blueberries,

cranberries, beetroot etc.

- Tomatoes should be lightly carved in

with a knife before juice extraction.

- Bananas should be added for aromatic

purposes only, as very little juice can be

extracted.

Short-time operation

The appliance has been designed for short-

term operation only, i.e. it should not be

operated continuously for more than 1

minute. Switch off the appliance afterwards

and allow the motor to cool down for 1

minute before switching it on again.

Before using for the first time

- Before the appliance is used for the first

time, it must be cleaned as described in

the section

General Care and Cleaning

.

Switch

The appliance is equipped with a 3-position

switch.

appliance switched off

slow juice extraction

2

fast juice extraction

We recommend starting extraction with the

slow setting and switching to the faster

setting only when necessary.

Operation

- Place the filter base onto the drive unit.

Ensure that the three locating points on

the filter base are properly aligned with

the three corresponding holes on the

drive unit.

- Fit the filter and grating plate insert in the

filter base and push the insert down until

it is heard locking into place. It is

essential that the filter is properly locked;

otherwise, if it is not correctly connected

to the drive shaft, damage may occur

during operation. Check that the insert is

properly and securely fitted by manually

turning the filter and grating plate insert

slightly in a clockwise direction;  if it can

be easily turned, it is correctly fitted.

- Place the transparent lid onto the filter

base and use the two locking clamps to

lock the lid to the base;  this will activate

the safety switch.

- Place the juice container directly

underneath the juice outlet.

- Place the pulp container underneath the

pulp outlet.

- Insert the plug into the wall outlet and set

the switch to the required setting.

- Feed the cleaned and pre-cut fruit or

vegetable pieces down the feeder tube

while the unit is running. Use the pestle

and lightly push the pieces down.

Excessive pressure may result in damage

to the motor or grating plate!

- When processing large quantities of fruit

or vegetables, the pulp container and

juice container must be emptied from

time to time as necessary.

- After use, switch the appliance off and

remove the plug from the wall socket.

Juice container

The juice container incorporates a

removable foam screen. If the juice is

poured through the screen located on the

5

side of the container, the foam caused during

juice extraction will remain inside the

container. The juice should therefore be

poured out slowly and carefully.

When pouring the residual juice from the

container, it is possible that the foam will

also be poured out with it.

General Care and Cleaning

Always remove the plug from the wall

socket and allow the appliance to cool

down before cleaning.

Please note:  the filter and grating insert

has sharp projections, and the integral

blade in the feeder chute is extremely

sharp;

take special care when handling

these parts to avoid injury

.

Do not use abrasives, harsh cleaning

solutions or hard brushes for cleaning.

To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not

clean the drive unit with water and do

not immerse it in water.

- The drive unit may be wiped with a

slightly damp, lint-free cloth.

- The pulp container, filter and grating

plate insert, lid, pestle and juice container

with foam screen can be cleaned using

hot water and a mild detergent.

- The filter and grating plate insert should

be cleaned each time after use, using a

soft, commercially available nylon brush.

Do not clean the insert with any hard

object as that may render it unusable.

- Some fruits and vegetables contain

substances that may cause discoloration

of the plastic components of the

appliance. This process cannot be

avoided in the long term, but may be

slowed down by cleaning the parts

immediately after use.

- Cleaning the pulp container can be

facilitated by placing a small waste bag

inside before use.

Do not dispose of old or defective

appliances in domestic garbage;

this should only be done through

public collection points.
