CD Ripping

The HSD 8450 can be convert an Audio-CD or single tracks from an Audio-CD into the MP3

format and store them on USB or Card Media. The CD Ripping function can not convert

Audio-CD which have any kind of copy protection inside.

How to convert an Audio track or an Audio-CD into the MP3 file format?

1. Place an Audio-CD without copy protection on the tray and close the loader. He

HSD 8450 starts the playback of the Audio-CD automatically.

2. Connect an external memory like USB stick or SD/MMC/MS card.

3. Press during the playback of the Audio-CD the CD RIP button on the remote control

and following menu appears on the screen:

With the navigation buttons

S or T you can change between the different options SPEED,

BITRATE, CREATE ID TAG, DEVICE and the bottom bar. With the navigation buttons

W or

X you can change between the options and track sections. The option are in detailed:

a. Speed

Here you can define the CD Ripping speed. The settings are “NORMAL” which

means a real time conversion with listening the music. And the setting “FAST” in-

creases the conversion, but than you couldn’t hear the music.

b. Bit rate

Here you can define the uses bit rate by the conversion of the audio track into MP3.

In general the more the bit rate the merrier is the quality of the MP3 file. Please use

the setting 128 kbps.

c. Create ID Tag

By activating this option the DVD Player creates the ID Tag information in the MP3

file.

d. Device — Destination

With this option you can define the device and destination where the MP3 file is

stored. If you had connected an USB device on the port, than the device USB will be

shown by the options. When you had connected a Card Media, than CARD will be

shown. In case of both kind of memory are connected, than you can choose the

device and destination.

4. In the next step you should choose the audio track or audio tracks.

i. If you want to convert all track from the Audio-CD into MP3, than move the pointer to

the bottom bar and highlight the op-

tion “SELECT ALL”. All tracks will be

marked with a check (see the right

picture).

ii. If you want choose just only one or

two tracks from the Audio-CD, than

change from the option section into

the track section by the

X button.

Choose the track and marked them

with a check by pressing the ENTER

button.

5. After the selecting of the track or

tracks please mark the START field

in the bottom bar. Press the ENTER

button to start the conversion.

6. A new window appears on the

screen. There you can see the op-

eration and the status of the conver-

sion. If on the device (destination) is

actually a folder with CD Ripping and

any converted MP3 files with the

same file name there, than the de-

vice asked you to overwrite the files. I

you want, than please confirm by OK

field and if not, than you should can-

celled the whole conversion.

Please use the CD Ripping function only

for home entertainment, it can not be used for commercial purposes.
