read the following instructions carefully.

Important safety instructions

Before the appliance is used, the main

body as well as any fitted attachment

should be checked thoroughly for any

defects. If the appliance, for instance, has

been dropped onto a hard surface, it

must no longer be used: even invisible

damage may have adverse effects on the

operational safety of the appliance.

The power cord should be regularly

examined for any signs of damage. In the

event of such damage being found, the

appliance must no longer be used.

This appliance is not intended for use by

any person (including children) with

reduced physical, sensory or mental

capabilities, or lacking experience and

knowledge, unless they have been given

supervision or instruction concerning the

use of the appliance by a person

responsible for their safety.

Children should be supervised to ensure

that they do not play with the appliance.

Take care that neither the housing nor

the cable get in touch with hot surfaces

such as the hot plates of an electric stove,

or with a hot gas flame.

Never operate the coffee grinder when it

is empty, i.e. without coffee beans.

WARNING!

The blade will not

immediately stop to move when the

appliance is switched off. Take care not

to touch the rotating blade.

Always unplug the appliance from the

mains supply socket.

Do not unplug the appliance from the

mains supply socket by pulling on the

mains lead. Remove by grasping the

plug.

Take care that the mains lead does not

trail over the front of the work surface on

which the coffee grinder is set up.

damage results from improper use, or if

these instructions are not complied with.

The appliance is only intended for

domestic use and not for commercial

applications.

In order to comply with safety

regulations and to avoid hazards, repairs

of electrical appliances must be carried

out by qualified personnel, including the

replacement of the power cord If repairs

are needed, please send the appliance to

one of our customer service departments.

How to operate the coffee grinder

The coffee grinder has been designed for

short-time operation only. Therefore, it

should not be operated continuously for

more than 30 seconds. Switch off and

allow the motor to cool before reusing

the appliance.

- Remove the lid by lifting it upwards.

- Fill the bowl with the required amount of

coffee beans but take care not to overfill

(see maximum filling mark).

- Replace the lid back onto the housing

such that the small tongue of the lid fits

exactly into the recess of the housing.

- Connect your coffee grinder to the mains

supply socket and depress the switch

until the coffee grounds have reached the

desired degree of fineness (after approx.

20-25 secs.).

Hold the lid with one hand in position

while grinding.

- When grinding is finished, release the

switch, unplug the appliance from the

mains supply socket, remove the lid and

empty the bowl.

Cable storage

The cable storage serves for the space-saving

storage of the cable.

How to unwind the cable

Hold the bottom part of the housing with

one hand, grasp the plug with the other hand

and pull out.

How to wind up the cable

Hold the bottom part of the housing with

one hand and turn the upper part of the

housing clockwise.

Cleaning and Care

Before cleaning your coffee grinder,

always make sure that the plug has been

removed from the mains supply socket.

Never immerse the coffee grinder in

water or liquid. Wipe the housing with a

damp cloth and dry afterwards.

- The lid and bowl may be cleaned with a

suitable small brush.

Disposal

Do not dispose of old or defective

appliances in domestic garbage, but

only through public collection

points.

Guarantee

This product is guaranteed against defects in

materials and workmanship for a period of

two years from the date of purchase. Under

this guarantee the manufacturer undertakes

to repair or replace any parts found to be

defective, providing the product is returned

to one of our authorised service centres. This

guarantee is only valid if the appliance has

been used in accordance with the

instructions, and provided that it has not

been modified, repaired or interfered with

by any unauthorised person, or damaged

through misuse.

This guarantee naturally does not cover

wear and tear, nor breakables such as glass

and ceramic items, bulbs etc. This guarantee

does not affect your statutory rights, nor any

legal rights you may have as a consumer

under applicable national legislation

governing the purchase of goods. If the

product fails to operate and needs to be

returned, pack it carefully, enclosing your

name and address and the reason for return.

If within the guarantee period, please also

provide the guarantee card and proof of

purchase.
