Important safety reminders:

This cleaner should only be used for domestic cleaning as described in this user guide. Please ensure that this

guide is fully understood and kept for reference before operating this appliance.

Warning: - Electricity can be extremely dangerous.

This appliance is double insulated, and must not be earthed.

Important: - The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code: -

BLUE – Neutral BROWN – Live

Static Electricity: - Some carpets can cause a small build up of static electricity. Any static discharge is not hazardous to

health.

REMEMBER: - After use, switch the cleaner off and remove the plug from the electricity supply. Always switch off and

remove the plug before cleaning the appliance or attempting any maintenance.

DO NOT:

• Position the cleaner above you when cleaning stairs.

• Use your cleaner out of doors, on wet surfaces or for wet pick-up.

• Pick up matches, hot ash and cigarette ends, hard or sharp objects or anything that may obviously damage the

cleaner.

• Spray with or pick up flammable liquids, cleaning fluids, aerosols, or their vapours as they may cause risk of

fire / explosion.

• Run over the supply cord whilst using the cleaner or remove the plug by pulling the cord.

• Stand on or wrap the power cord around arms or legs when using the cleaner.

• Continue to use the cleaner if it appears to be faulty. If the supply cord is damaged then stop using the cleaner

immediately. The supply cord must be replaced only by an authorised Hoover service engineer to avoid a

safety hazard.

TO AVOID SAFETY HAZARDS THE CLEANER MUST ONLY BE REPAIRED BY A HOOVER SERVICE ENGINEER.

Assembling and getting to know your cleaner

By following this step by step guide your new Hoover Sensory Dust Manager Cyclonic will be ready for use:

• Remove the cleaner from the packaging. Please dispose of the bags and other packaging material in a safe

and conscientious way.

• Open the top cover (A) ensuring that the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette (B), premotor filter (C1) and exhaust

filter (C2) are fitted correctly. Close the top cover.

• Insert the hose end into the top cover, ensuring it clips and lock into position (D). To release simply press the

two latches and pull.

• Fit the free end of the hose into the handle using the lock ring (E).

• Fit the extension tubes (F1), floor nozzle (F2), and other accessories as required for use.

• Your Hoover Sensory Dust Manager Cyclonic is now ready for use.

Using your cleaner

Hoover’s unique Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette is the bagless system that separates and collects the dust from

the air thanks to its internal centrifugal force thus ensuring maximum hygiene and environment safeguard.

• On/Off button (G). Once plugged in, press this button to start the cleaner. Press it again to stop the cleaner

before removing the plug after use.

• Cord rewind button (H). Remove the plug from the power supply. Press this button to wind the power cord

back into the cleaner.

• Electronic Cassette or Bag check indicator. (I). When active this device flashes a Red light to warn about the

following.

A. On all models the device flashes to warn you that the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette or the PureHepa bag

(depending on your selection) is full and requires emptying (cassette) or replacement (PureHepa bag). Please

refer to chapters “Emptying the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette” and “Maintaining the Dust Manager Cyclonic

Cassette filter” or “Reverter System” and “Maintaining pre-motor and exhaust filter” in case of PureHepa bag

mode.

B. If after emptying the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette the light is still flashing a blockage has occurred.

Please refer to chapter “Removing a blockage from the system”.

If the Cassette check indicator flashes for more than 5 minutes a buzzer will sound. At this point action must be

taken to ensure best performance.

• Active Temperature control. When active this device automatically reduces its power to a protective level. If

the product is used for a prolonged period of time with a blockage causing the internal temperature to rise, the

machine will automatically reduce the power. This helps to keep the machine cool and safe until the restriction

can be removed.

• Thermo Protection Switch. Cleaner automatically switches off. In this event extract the plug from the socket

and allow cleaner to cool for 30 minutes. Check if the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette needs cleaning or if

there is a blockage in the system (see chapter: “Maintaining the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette filter” and

“Removing a blockage from the system”).

• Fixed Power Control (depending on model). The cleaner will operate at a fixed power setting.

• Variable power control (I) (depending on model). Rotate the on/off button to increase or decrease suction. Use

low suction for delicate fabrics.

• Carpet and floor nozzle (J). Press pedal on the nozzle to lower the brushes when cleaning hard floors. Press

the pedal again to lift the brushes when cleaning carpets.

• Turbo nozzle (depending on model). Use the Turbo nozzle for deep cleaning on carpets. IMPORTANT: do not

use Turbo nozzle on rugs with long fringes, animal hide and over carpet piles with a depth exceeding 15mm. Do

not keep the nozzle stationary while the brush is rotating. Also available as an additional accessory.

• Caresse nozzle (depending on model). Designed for use on wooden or any delicate floors. Also available as an

additional accessory. Order Pack No. G50 0484 5044.

• Multi function tool. Tool is stored on the handle (F1). Remove tool and use as:

a) Crevice tool: for corners and hard to reach areas (K1).

b) Furniture nozzle: for soft furnishings and fabrics (K2).

c) Dusting brush (depending on model): for bookshelves, frames, keyboards etc. (K2). The dusting brush can be

can be activated by pressing the side latch and sliding outwards.

• Tube Parking and Storage (L). The tubes can be parked at the rear of the cleaner or stored into the storage

slot underneath the cleaner.

Cleaner maintenance

Emptying the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette

Check and empty the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette regularly, best after each use.

• Extract the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette (M).

• Use the handle to carry the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette to the dustbin (N).

• Pull the latch to remove the cover from the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette (O).

• Grip the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette firmly and tip the contents into the dustbin. Shake the Dust Manager

Cyclonic Cassette if required or use a brush to remove any of the remaining dust or debris (P, and Q).

• Wash the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette if required. See chapter “Maintaining the Dust Manager Cyclonic

Cassette filter”.

• To close the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette locate the cover rear guides onto the container then close firmly.

• Return the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette to its original position in the cleaner.

Maintaining the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette filter

To maintain the best performance, we recommend that you wash the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette filter

every month or as soon as you notice a drop in performance removing even the finest dust retained in it.

• Shake out the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette to remove large dirt and debris as described in “Empty the Dust

Manager Cyclonic Cassette”.

• Brush the inside of the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette to remove the fine dust that may have formed on the

walls of the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette (Q).

• Push the latches to remove the bottom filter grill (S).

• Tap filter against bin until fine dust is removed.

• Rinse filter under lukewarm water and agitate inner pleats, ensuring both sides are cleaned.

• Remove excess water with a dry cloth and leave to air dry for 24 hours or until fully dry.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT USE THE CLEANER WHEN FILTER NOT COMPLETELY DRY.

• After completing the washing and drying operations, locate the filter in its original position. Return the Dust

Manager Cyclonic Cassette to its original position.

Reverter System - how to change from Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette to PureHepa bag mode

Depending on your preference and environment, you may wish to use this cleaner with the Hoover exclusive

PureHepa bag instead of the Dust Manager Cyclonic C4assette.

• Switch the cleaner off and remove the plug from the electricity supply.

• Open cover, grip Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette handle and pull upward to remove it (M).

• Fold and fit the PureHepa bag into the bag holder which is provided with the cleaner (W). Insert the bag collar

into the location grooves ensuring that the bag collar is fully located (X)

• Place the bag holder in the correct locations and close the cover (Y).

When full, please dispose of the bag immediately.

• Open cover, grip the bag holder and pull upward to remove.

• Pull the tongue to remove and seal the bag. Dispose the full bag into the bin.

• Only use Hoover genuine PureHepa bags

Maintaining pre-motor and exhaust filter

To maintain best performance we recommend that you wash the filters in the cleaner at least every month.

• To access the filters please refer to diagram (C1, 2).

• Rinse both filters under hand warm water (T, and U).

• Do not scrub the filters, use washing up liquid or place in a dishwasher.

• Remove excess water with a dry cloth and leave to air dry for 24 hours or until fully dry (V).

• After completing the washing and drying operations, locate the filters in their original positions in the cleaner.

Removing a blockage from the system

If there is a noticeable drop in the performance see the following 2 points:

1) Check if the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette is full (If so refer to chapter “Emptying the Dust Manager Cyclonic

Cassette”.

2) If not full then:

a) Have you cleaned the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette filters recently? If not please refer to the chapter

“Maintaining the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette filter”.

b) Check if there is any other blockage in the system.

• Use a rod or pole to remove any blockage from the tubes and flexible hose.

• It may also be possible to remove an obstruction in the flexible hose by lightly squeezing or bending it.

• Check and clean if required the underside of the nozzle by using the crevice tool.

Before calling Hoover Check list

1) Is there a working electricity supply to the cleaner? Check with another appliance.

2) Is there a restriction?

a) Is the Cyclonic Cassette full? Please refer to the chapter “Emptying The Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette”.

b) Are the filters or Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette blocked? Please refer to chapter “Maintaining the Dust

Manager Cyclonic Cassette filter”.

c) Is the hose or nozzle blocked? Please refer to chapter “Removing a blockage from the system”.

3) Has the cleaner automatically switched off? In this case the Thermo Protection System has been activated.

Please refer to chapter “Using your cleaner”, paragraph “Thermo Protection System”.

Please remember that:

1) Some carpets can cause a small build up of static electricity. Any static discharge is not hazardous to health or

the product.

2) A service charge will be made if the cleaner is examined and found in working order, has not been assembled in

accordance with these instructions, or has been misused.

• Call Hoover Customer Help Line 08705 400 600 in the event of dissatisfaction.

• Ensure that all service and repairs are carried out by an authorised Hoover Service Engineer.

• Only use genuine Hoover parts.

• Empty the Dust Manager Cyclonic Cassette regularly. Best after each use.

• Always switch off and remove the power plug from the electricity supply after use and before cleaning the

appliance or attempting user maintenance as described in these instructions.

• Remember: Electricity can be dangerous.

VOUS NE DEVEZ PAS

• Placer l’aspirateur au-dessus de vous lors du nettoyage d’escaliers.

• Utiliser l’aspirateur à l’extérieur, sur des surfaces mouillées ou pour aspirer des substances mouillées.

• Aspirer des objets durs ou tranchants, allumettes, cendres chaudes, mégots de cigarettes, farine, plâtre,

ciment, enduit, sciure de bois ou autres objets similaires.

• Vaporiser ou aspirer des liquides inflammables, fluides nettoyants, aérosols ou vapeurs pouvant poser un

risque d’incendie ou d’explosion.

• Passer sur le cordon d'alimentation électrique avec l'aspirateur lors de la marche de celui-ci ou débrancher la

prise en tirant sur le cordon

• Marcher sur le cordon d’alimentation, ou le laisser s’emmêler autour de vos bras ou de vos jambes pendant la

marche de l’aspirateur.

• Continuer d’utiliser l’aspirateur s’il semble défectueux. Si le cordon d’alimentation électrique est endommagé,

arrêtez d’utiliser l’aspirateur IMMEDIATEMENT. Le cordon d’alimentation électrique doit être réparé par un

réparateur agréé du réseau de service Hoover pour éviter les risques.

POUR EVITER LES RISQUES LE CORDON D’ALIMENTATION ELECTRIQUE DOIT ETRE REPARE PAR UN

REPARATEUR AGREE DU RESEAU DE SERVICE HOOVER.

Assemblez et faites la connaissance de votre aspirateur

Suivez ces instructions détaillées et votre nouvel aspirateur Hoover Dust Manager sera prêt à être utilisé :

• Sortez l’appareil de l’emballage. Veillez à éliminer les sacs et autres matériaux d’emballage sans causer de

danger et sans nuire à l’environnement.

• Ouvrez le couvercle supérieur (A) et vérifier que le couvercle de la Cassette Cyclonique Dust Manager (B), le

filtre avant moteur (C1) et le filtre de sortie moteur (C2) sont montés correctement. Refermez le couvercle

supérieur.

• Enfoncez l'embout du tuyau flexible dans le couvercle supérieur jusqu'à ce qu'il se verrouille avec un declic (D).

• Fixez l'autre extrémité du flexible au tube rigide en utilisant l'anneau de verrouillage.

• Montez les tubes de rallonge (F1), le suceur pour sol dur (F2) et tout autre accessoire selon les besoins.

Utilisation de l’aspirateur

La cassette cyclonique est un système sans sac, exclusif à Hoover, qui sépare et collecte la poussière de l’air

grâce à sa force centrifuge intérieure et assure de la sorte l’hygiène maximale et la protection de l’environnement.

• Bouton Marche/Arrêt (G). Une fois que l’aspirateur est branché, appuyez sur ce bouton pour le mettre en

marche. Appuyez de nouveau pour arrêter l’aspirateur puis débranchez-le après l’utilisation.

• Bouton d’enrouleur (H). Débranchez la prise de courant. Appuyez sur ce bouton pour enrouler

automatiquement le cordon d’alimentation dans l’aspirateur.

• Indicateur de cassette électronique ou de sac (I). Quand il est activé, ce dispositif clignote en rouge pour

signaler ce qui suit:

A. Sur tous les modèles le dispositif clignote pour vous avertir que la Cassette Cyclonique Dust Manager ou le

sac PureHepa (selon votre choix) est plein(e) et a besoin d’être vidée (cassette) ou remplacé (sac PureHepa).

Veuillez vous reporter aux sections « Vidage de la Cassette Cyclonique Dust Manager » et « Entretien du filtre

de la cassette cyclonique ».

B. Si l'indicateur de cassette cyclonique pleine clignote pendant plus de 5 minutes une alarme sonore est

déclenchée.

Si l’indicateur de cassette cyclonique pleine clignote pendant plus de 5 minutes une alarme sonore est

déclenchée. Dans ce cas une intervention est nécessaire pour assurer le maintien des performances

optimales.

• Détection de température. Quand il est activé, ce dispositif réduit automatiquement la puissance à un niveau

de sécurité. Si l’appareil est utilisé de façon prolongée avec un blocage qui provoque une surchauffe interne, le

système réduira automatiquement la puissance. Cette fonction évite la surchauffe et assure la sécurité de

l’appareil jusqu’à l’élimination du blocage.

• Coupe-circuit thermique. L’aspirateur s’arrête automatiquement. Si cela se produit, débranchez l’aspirateur et

laissez-le refroidir pendant 30 minutes. Vérifiez s’il faut nettoyer la cassette cyclonique ou s’il y a un blocage

(veuillez vous reporter aux sections : « Entretien du filtre de la cassette cyclonique » et « Elimination d’un

blocage du système »).

• Puissance fixe (selon le modèle). L’aspirateur fonctionnera à un niveau de puissance fixe.

• Puissance variable (I) (selon le modèle). Faites tourner le bouton de Marche/Arrêt pour augmenter ou diminuer

l’aspiration. Utilisez une aspiration faible pour les tissus délicats.

• Suceur pour sol dur et moquettes (J). Appuyez sur la pédale du suceur pour abaisser les brosses quand

vous nettoyez des sols durs. Appuyez de nouveau sur la pédale pour rétracter les brosses quand vous nettoyez

des moquettes.

• Turbobrosse (selon le modèle). Utilisez la Turbobrosse pour le nettoyage en profondeur des moquettes.

IMPORTANT : n'utilisez pas la Turbobrosse en position stationnaire lorsque la brosse tourne. Egalement

disponible en tant qu’accessoire additionnel.

• Brosse parquet Caresse (selon le modèle). Etudié pour l’utilisation sur les parquets et planchers délicats.

Egalement disponible en tant qu’accessoire additionnel. Demander le pack No. G50 0484 5044.

• Accessoire polyvalent. Cet accessoire est rangé (F1) sur le tube :

a) suceur plat : pour les recoins et les endroits difficiles à atteindre

b) petit suceur : pour les tissus d'ameublement

c) brosse à meubles (selon le modèle) pour les bibliothèques, les cadres, les claviers, etc. (K2). Pour actionner la

brosse à épousseter appuyez sur le taquet latéral et faites-le glisser vers l’extérieur.

• Porte-accessoires et rangement des accessoires (L). Les tubes peuvent être placés à l’arrière de

l’aspirateur ou rangés dans le logement qui se trouve sous l’aspirateur.

Entretien de l’aspirateur

Vidage de la Cassette Cyclonique Dust Manager

Contrôlez et videz régulièrement de la Cassette Cyclonique Dust Manager, de préférence après chaque

utilisation.

• Sortez la Cassette Cyclonique Dust Manager (N)

• Utilisez la poignée pour transporter la Cassette Cyclonique Dust Manager

• En tenant fermement la Cassette Cyclonique Dust Manager, versez son contenu dans la poubelle.

• Lavez la Cassette Cyclonique Dust Manager, versez son contenu dans la poubelle.

• Pour fermer la Cassette Cyclonique Dust Manager, adaptez les guides arrière.

• Remettez la Cassette Cyclonique Dust Manager à sa position d'origine dans l'aspirateur.

Entretien du filtre de la cassette cyclonique

Pour maintenir les performances à leur niveau optimal, nous vous recommandons de laver la Cassette

Cyclonique Dust Manager pour éliminer toutes les poussières même les plus fines tous les mois ou dès que

vous notez une baisse de performance.

• Secouez la Cassette Cyclonique Dust Manager pour détacher la poussière et les plus gros débris de la façon

décrite au paragraphe « Vidage de la Cassette Cyclonique Dust Manager ».

• Brossez l’intérieur de la Cassette Cyclonique Dust Manager pour enlever la poussière fine qui peut encore

adhérer aux parois de la cassette (Q).

• Poussez le taquet pour retirer la grille inférieure de filtre (S).

• Cognez légèrement le filtre contre la poubelle pour détacher les poussières fines.

• Lavez le filtre sous le robinet, à l’eau tiède, en veillant à nettoyer des deux côtés et à agiter les plis.

• Epongez le filtre avec un chiffon sec et laissez-le sécher à l’air libre pendant 24 h ou jusqu’à ce qu’ils soit

complètement sec.

IMPORTANT : N’UTILISEZ PAS L’ASPIRATEUR TANT QUE LE FILTRE N’EST PAS COMPLETEMENT SEC.

• Une fois que le filtre est lavé et sec, remontez-le à sa position d'origine. Remettez la Cassette Cyclonique Dust

Manager à sa position d'origine.

Système inverseur – passage du mode Cassette cyclonique Dust Manager au mode sac

PureHepa

Selon votre préférence et votre environnement, il se peut que vous souhaitiez utiliser cet aspirateur avec le sac

PureHepa exclusif à Hoover au lieu de la Cassette Cyclonique Dust Manager.

• Eteignez l’aspirateur et débranchez-le de la prise d’alimentation secteur.

• Ouvrez le couvercle, saisissez la poignée de la Cassette Cyclonique Dust Manager et tirez vers le haut pour la

retirer (M).

• Pliez et posez le sac PureHepa dans le porte-sac fourni avec l’aspirateur (W). Introduisez la collerette du sac

bien à fond dans les gorges de positionnement (X).

• Placez le porte-sac dans les emplacements corrects et fermez le couvercle (Y).

Lorsque le sac est plein, mettez-le immédiatement à la poubelle.

• Ouvrez le couvercle, saisissez le porte-sac et tirez vers le haut pour le retirer.

• Tirez la languette pour retirer le sac et fermez-le hermétiquement. Mettez le sac à la poubelle.

• N’utilisez que des sacs PureHepa de la marque Hoover

Entretien du filtre pré-moteur et du filtre de sortie moteur

Pour maintenir les performances au niveau optimal, nous vous recommandons de laver les filtres de

l’aspirateur au moins une fois par mois.

• Pour l’accès aux filtres, consultez les diagrammes (C1, 2).

• Rincez les deux filtres sous le robinet, à l’eau tiède (T et U).

• Evitez de brosser les filtres, d’utiliser du liquide vaisselle ou de les laver au lave-vaisselle.

• Epongez les filtres avec un chiffon sec et laissez-les sécher à l’air libre pendant 24 h ou jusqu’à ce qu’ils soient

complètement secs (V).

• Une fois que les filtres sont lavés et secs, remettez les à leur position d'origine dans l'aspirateur.

Elimination d’un blocage du système

Si vous notez une baisse de performances évidente appliquez les deux étapes suivantes :

1) Vérifiez si la cassette cyclonique est pleine. Si tel est le cas, veuillez vous reporter au chapitre « Vidage de la

cassette cyclonique ».

2) Si elle n’est pas pleine :

a) Avez-vous nettoyé les filtres de la cassette cyclonique récemment ? Si la réponse est non, veuillez vous

reporter au chapitre « Entretien du filtre de la Cassette Cyclonique Dust Manager ».

b) Vérifiez s’il y a un autre blocage dans le système.

• Utilisez une tige ou une tringle pour éliminer un blocage dans les tubes ou dans le flexible.

• Vous pouvez également éliminer un blocage dans le flexible en le pressant ou en le pliant légèrement.

• Contrôlez et nettoyez si nécessaire le dessous du suceur au moyen du suceur en pointe.

Liste des contrôles à effectuer avant d’appeler Hoover

1) L’aspirateur est-il alimenté avec une tension électrique correcte ? Branchez un autre appareil à la même prise

pour vérifier.

2) Est-ce qu’il y a un blocage ?

a) La Cassette Cyclonique Dust Manager est elle pleine ? Veuillez vous reporter au chapitre « Vidage de la Cassette

Cyclonique Dust Manager ».

b) Y-a-t-il un blocage dans les filtres ou la Cassette Cyclonique Dust Manager ? Veuillez vous reporter à la section

« Entretien du filtre de la Cassette Cyclonique Dust Manager ».

c) Le flexible ou le suceur est-il bloqué ? Veuillez vous reporter à la section « Elimination d’un blocage du système ».

3) L’aspirateur s’est-il arrêté automatiquement ? Dans ce cas le coupe-circuit de protection thermique a été activé.

Veuillez vous reporter à la section « Caractéristiques », paragraphe « Coupe-circuit de protection thermique ».

N’oubliez pas :

1) Certaines moquettes peuvent produire une petite accumulation d’électricité statique. Les décharges d’électricité

statique ne sont pas dangereuses pour la santé ou pour l’appareil.

2) Des frais vous seront facturés si l’examen par nos soins révèle que l’aspirateur est en bon état de marche, qu’il

n’a pas été assemblé conformément à ces instructions ou qu’il n’a pas été utilisé correctement.

Vous devez

• Faire appel au Centre de service Hoover le plus proche si vous n’êtes pas satisfait(e) de votre appareil.

• Faire effectuer toutes les réparations et l’entretien par un technicien agréé du réseau de service Hoover.

• N’utiliser que des pièces de rechange Hoover d’origine.

• Vider régulièrement la Cassette Cyclonique Dust Manager. De préférence après chaque utilisation.

• Toujours éteindre l’aspirateur et débrancher la prise de courant après l’utilisation et avant de le nettoyer ou

d’effectuer une des opérations d’entretien décrites dans ce guide.

• N’oubliez pas : l’électricité peut être dangereuse.
