IMPORTANT INFORMATION

POWER CABLE

The appliance is supplied with a short power cable in order to reduce the risk

of persons becoming entangled or tripping over a long cable.

Whilst exercising the requisite caution it is possible to use an extension cable.

In the event that an extension cable is used the nominal values quoted for

the extension cable must comply with those of the appliance as a minimum.

If the appliance is grounded then the extension cable must be a three-con-

ductor, earthed cable. The longer cable must be laid such that it does not

hang over the edges of tables or the corners of worktops, so that children

cannot pull on it and such that it is not possible for persons to trip over it.

SWITCHING OFF THE POUR OVER COFFEE MACHINE MANUALLY

Using the ON/OFF switch (15) it is possible to switch the automatic browser

coffee brewer off at any time.

SAFETY SHUT-OFF

The pour over coffee machine is protected against damage caused by insuf-

ficient water. A safety shut-off switches the appliance off automatically if it is

empty of water or if the heating element becomes too hot.

The automatic pour over coffee machine is protected against damage caused

by scaling. A safety shut-off switches the appliance off automatically if it is

scaled. If the ON/OFF switch (15) illuminates red you have to de-scale the auto-

matic pour over coffee machine because the machine will not operate again

until rectified.

PRIOR TO USING THE POUR OVER COFFEE MACHINE

Clean the appliance prior to first use. In order to do so fill the water tank (2)

with water to the MAX line and allow the appliance to run with the filter hold-

er (6), coffee filter (7) and thermos jug (8) in place but without ground coffee.

Afterwards simply tip the water away.

HOW TO USE THE POUR OVER COFFEE MACHINE

Open the lid (4) of the water tank and fill it with the desired volume of cold

water. However, do not fill beyond the MAX line. Close the lid (4).

You can also take the water tank (2) out in order to top it up with water

or when cleaning the appliance. In order to do so remove the lid (4) of the

water tank and lift the water tank (2) carefully up vertically and out of the

pour over coffee machine by the handle (3).

Note: If the water tank (2) is empty or is not in place then the appliance will

not switch on for safety reasons, in order to prevent the heating element from

running whilst dry.

Warning: Only top up the water tank (2) with cold, clear water. Do not add any

milk or other liquids to the water tank.

Remove the thermos jug (8) from the pour over coffee machine. Now take

the filter holder (6) with inserted coffee filter (7) carefully out of the hous-

ing (1) of the pour over coffee machine. In order to make a jug of coffee

®

fill the coffee filter (7) with approx. 8 BODUM

measuring spoons (16) of

medium fine ground coffee. For a smaller quantity of coffee you will require

an appropriately reduced measure of medium fine ground coffee. (Observe

the table providing the „Recommended dosage“ information.) Now slide the

filter holder (6) with inserted coffee filter (7) carefully back into the housing

of the pour over coffee machine.

CAUTION: Only use the coffee filter (7) supplied with the appliance. Never use

paper filters.
