POSITIONING

Place the device on a stable, level platform that is not hot

nor close to a source of heat. The platform has to be dry.

Keep the device and its power cord out of the reach of

children.

Make sure that the mains voltage in your country is com-

patible with the voltage given on the nameplate attached

to the device. Only connect the device to a properly

electrical safety socket with a rating of at least 6 amps.

(Use a residual current circuit-breaker (F1-switch). Your

electrician can advise you.) For safety reasons, the elec-

trical plug must be accessible while the device is in use.

The manufacturer is not liable for accidents that occur as

a result of incorrect or missing grounding of the device

BISTRO

(Grounding for EU version only).

In the event the electrical socket is not suitable for the

electrical plug on your device, have the socket replaced

by a qualified electrician.

This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider

than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this

plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way.

if the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the

plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.

Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.

A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply

cord) should be used to reduce the risk resulting from

becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.

Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords

are available and may be used if care is exercised in

their use.

If a longer detachable power-supply cord or extension cord

is used:

1) The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension

cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of

the appliance; and

2) The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over

the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by

children or tripped over unintentionally.

BEFORE USING THE TABLE GRILL

Make sure that all packaging materials and stickers have

been removed from the grill platter and drip tray.

Clean the grill platter (2), drip tray (7) and housing (1)

thoroughly dry.

Before you start grilling, rub a little cooking oil onto the

grill platter (2). Wipe off any excess oil.

NOTE: Upon first use of the table grill, a bit of smoke can

occur. That is normal; the smoke disappears in the course of

the first use.

THIS IS HOW TO USE YOUR TABLE GRILL

There are two possible ways to use your table grill:

Grill platter with ribbed surface (2a)

The grill platter with the ribbed surface is suited for meat

such as steaks and chops. This surface leaves a typical ribbed

pattern on the meat.

Grill platter with smooth surface (2b)

The grill platter with the smooth surface is used for grilling

seafood, sliced vegetables and eggs.

Place the housing (1) on a smooth, heat-resistant surface. Lay

the drip tray (7) into the housing (1). Place the grill platter

(2) with the desired grill surface up onto the housing (1).

Take care that the connection (4) for the temperature

controller is on the same side as the latch (6).
