DANGER for children
• This appliance is not suitable for use by people – including children – with reduced • physical, sensorial or mental capabili-
ties; by people with little or no experience or awareness of the appliance, unless carefully supervised or trained in the use
of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• It is necessary to supervise children to make sure that they do not play with the appliance.
• When disposing of the appliance as waste, it must be made inoperative by cutting off the power cord. Also remember to
make any parts of the potentially hazardous parts of the appliance safe, as there is a risk that children may use them as
playthings.
• Packaging elements must not be left in reach of children as they are potentially hazardous.
• The detergent used for this appliance must be kept out of reach of children. Always follow the instructions on the detergent
label before use. The detergent may dry the skin on the hands and therefore, it is advisable to wear gloves before use.
DANGER from electricity
• Make sure that the power voltage of the appliance corresponds to that of your mains electricity.
• Always connect the appliance to a properly earthed socket.
• In case of using extension leads, these must be suitable for the appliance power to avoid danger to the operator and for
the safety of the environment in which the appliance is being used. Extension leads, if not suitable, can cause operating
anomalies.
• Never leave the appliance unattended when it is connected to the power mains; unplug it after every use.

• Always switch off the appliance at the main switch and unplug it from the power mains before refilling it.
• Never allow the detergent sprayed from the appliance to come into contact with power sockets and/or other electrical
appliances or wires.
• To prevent dangerous overheating, we recommend that you unwind the power cord for its whole length.
• Make sure that hands are dry before using or adjusting the appliance switches, before touching the plug or power con-
nections.
DANGER from other causes
• Never leave the appliance exposed to the elements (rain, sunshine, etc.).
• Never place the appliance on or near to sources of heat.
• Make sure that the power cord does not come into contact with hot surfaces.
•
Never direct the water jet towards people, animals, plants or equipment containing electrical parts
(e.g., inside ovens).
• Never attach the suction hose inlet to your eyes or ears.
• Never immerse the body of the appliance, plug or power cord in water or other liquids; clean them with a damp
cloth.
• Never use the appliance if the power cord or plug are damaged or if the appliance is faulty / damaged.
• All repairs, including the replacement of the power cord, must only be carried out by an Ariete Assistance Centre or by
technicians authorised by Ariete, so as to prevent any risks.
• This appliance has been designed for
domestic use only
and may not be used for commercial or industrial purposes. The
manufacturer cannot accept any liability for damage cause through improper or incorrect use of the appliance.
WARNING danger of scalds
• Never touch hot surfaces while using the product. Leave attachments to cool before replacing them.
• Even when the appliance is not in operation, unplug it from the power mains and leave it to cool before inserting
or removing single parts or before cleaning it.
IMPORTANT possible damage to materials
• Place the appliance in its horizontal position. When operating the appliance, never leave the machine in its upright position.
• Only use the hand grip to lift or carry the appliance. The appliance must always be switched off before it can be carried.
• Do not use the appliance if the air outlet filter covers are not correctly fitted.
• Before using the appliance, make sure that all filters have been fitted into the correct position (see “
CLEANING AND
MAINTENANCE
”).
• Do not clean up flammable liquids.
• Do not vacuum up hard or sharp objects; these could damage the appliance.
• Do not vacuum up acids or solvents; these could cause serious damage to the appliance. Above all, do not vacuum up
explosive powders or liquids since, if these come into contact with the internal parts of the appliance, they could explode.
• Never add scale removers, fragrances, alcohols or detergents to the boiler tank, as these could damage the appliance.
We recommend filling with tap water or alternatively, with 50% demineralised water and 50% tap water in areas where the
water is very hard.
• Only use the detergent provided or another form of detergent, as long as it is non foaming.
• Never put detergent into the water container.
• Before washing with water and detergent, it is recommended that you test a small concealed area of the surface to be
cleaned.
• Before dispensing the detergent onto rugs or carpets, it is first necessary to vacuum up any dirt. Use the right amount of
detergent; the surface must not be completely wet.
• The detergent must only be used in small amounts and only for particularly stubborn stains; excessive amounts could
damage the surfaces to be treated.

Never, under any circumstances, use detergents containing the following: chlorine, solvents, ammonia or substances
marked with an “
X
”
. Always ventilate the area after using detergents.
• When using for the first time or after a long pause, direct the steam jet into a container to eliminate any excess water.
• Do not threaten the safety of the appliance by using parts that are not original or which have not been approved by the
manufacturer.
• Unplug the appliance by gripping the plug firmly and pulling it out of the power socket; never unplug the appliance by
pulling on the power cord.
• Any changes to this product not expressly authorised by the manufacturer may make safety devices inoperative and will
also render the user’s warranty null and void.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Using the appliance for the first time
Fill the container (E) with the detergent supplied or with another detergent, as long as it is non foaming. Fill the container (X)
with water, connect the nozzle to the appliance body (without attachments), set the steam adjustment dial to MAX, switch on
the water dispenser button (U) and dispense water for 5 seconds by pressing the button on the nozzle.
Reset the dial to dose the detergent to a middle position.
The appliance is now ready to be used.
• Turn the lever (C) to open the cover clockwise or anticlockwise to release the appliance (

).
• Open the cover (D) lifting it upwards by the special hand grip (B) (
2
).
• The item acting as a dry cleaner with water filter needs an initial 500 cc, which is equivalent to 5 glasses of water in the
tank (G) (

).
• The water in the container (G) serves to trap the impurities in the air.
• Close the cover (D) and lock it in place by turning the lever (C) in the opposite direction to opening and until it is perfectly
aligned with the hand grip (B), making sure this is in the closed position.
• When using the appliance for washing, the container (X) needs to be filled with water, first removing the filler cap (V) (

).
NOTE: It is also possible to remove the container (X), pulling it upwards by the special handle (Z), and to
fill it under a running tap.
• Refit the container (X) by pressing it down gently as far as it will go and then making sure it has been inserted correctly.
• In the case of stubborn stains, should you wish to wash using the detergent provided

, insert this in the relevant container
(E) after first lifting the cover (D) and removing the cap (F) (

• Insert the suction hose

into the relevant inlet (A) and lock it in position by gently pressing it down until the top tab clicks
into place (

• In the same way, to remove the hose

it is necessary to press the tab down and pull the hose upwards.
• Fit the required attachment onto the grip of the suction hose

according to the type of cleaning required and the surface
to be cleaned. Insert the attachment and lock it into place (

• Pull out the power cord completely and plug it into the mains socket.
• Press the on/off switch (N) with your foot to switch on the suction function (

• The suction power can be adjusted using the dial (T) on the top of the appliance

• If you want to use the appliance as a wet and dry cleaner, with hot or cold water and with or without detergent, you need
to use the special “Magic Brush”

“and start the pump by pressing the relevant switch to dispense water (U) then use
the dial (P) to adjust the amount of detergent to use in the mix with water. Set the dial (P) to the 0 position to dispense
just water (

• To use hot water instead, after pressing the water dispensing switch (U), to start the pump, press the relevant switch (S) to start
up the heater and wait a few minutes.
• We recommend using a middle setting, according to the amount of detergent to be dispensed; it is possible to increase or
reduce the dose using the relevant dial.
• Dose the water or the mix of water and detergent dispensed by pressing the dispenser button

, then move the hose slowly over the surface to be cleaned to apply the detergent evenly. To dispense
in continuous mode when dealing with large surfaces, it is possible to lock the button

• After dispensing the required amount of detergent and hot or cold water onto the surface, switch off the dispensing pump
by pressing the two switches (S-U), wait a few minutes for the detergent to act, start the suction function to remove the dirt
by pressing on/off button (N) as already illustrated and move the hose attachment in a backward direction.
• Dispense the detergent and move the hose slowly backwards across the surface being cleaned. The mix sprayed by the
appliance will be cleaned up immediately, along with any dirt.
• As soon as the blue “no water” light (O), èswitches on, it is necessary to fill the water container (X). as needed. To do this,
switch off the appliance, unplug it from the mains power and after removing the cap (V), refill the container.
• Also check the level of the detergent, using the gauge (K) and fill as required.
• If the suction power should diminish during use, this means that dirt needs to be removed from the container (G).
• After using the cleaner, switch off the appliance by pressing the suction on/off switch (N) and the water dispensing function
using the relevant switches (S-U).
• Unplug the appliance from the mains power and rewind the power cord automatically inside the appliance by pressing the
button (R) with your foot (

• The appliance can be stored using the special hook for the floor brush (

Soap adjustment
When the dial to adjust the amount of detergent is set to OFF, the appliance will only dispense hot or cold water, making it
possible to rinse the surfaces that have been washed.
As the dial is turned, the appliance will dispense increasing amounts of detergent.

To use the glass washer correctly, proceed as follows:
• Evenly dispense the detergent over the surface to be cleaned so as to dissolve the dirt.
• Press the rubber scraper over the surface to be cleaned, moving it in vertical strokes from top to bottom, with the suction
function on.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
In the interests of hygiene, after using the appliance, rinse out the attachments by vacuuming up clean water. In this way the
attachments and the inside of the hose will be cleaned.

clean. Do not use solvents or detergents that could damage the plastic surfaces.
A few simple maintenance operations are necessary to make sure that the appliance will always operate perfectly.
Emptying and cleaning the dirty water container (G)
The dirty water container (G), must be emptied as soon as the red light (Q) switches on.
WARNING: As soon as the red light switches on, the motor will switch off automatically; after emptying the
container, press the on/off switch (N) to restart the appliance.
• Open the appliance cover (D) as described previously
• Take the dirty water container (G) by both handles (H), and remove it from the appliance body (

).
WARNING: Do not remove the lid (M) from the container before reaching the place where it is to be emptied;
this is to avoid any liquid spills while carrying it.
• As soon as you are ready, remove the cover (M) and empty out the container (G) upouring from the narrowest edge. Clean
out the container with water and a mild soap. Rinse the “Magic filter” thoroughly under running water (

).
• Follow these steps in reverse order to refit the container in the appliance, pressing down on it slightly to make sure it is
correctly in place (

).
Emptying the water and detergent container (X)
When not using the appliance for any length of time, take out and empty the water and detergent container so as to prevent
the formation of scale residues, which could affect the normal operation of the appliance.
Double air exhaust filter (Y)
Remove the grille of the HEPA filter on the back of the appliance, pressing the top clip at the same time. Take out the filter
and if necessary, wash it in running water and then leave to dry completely. Refit the grille, pressing it gently until it clicks
into place (

Motor air filter (J)
Open the appliance cover (D) and take out the dirty water container (G) complete with lid (M), s previously described, using
the two handles (H). Remove the air filter (J) and clean it under running water. Leave it to dry perfectly before refitting it
inside the appliance (

“Magic Filter” (L)
Open the appliance cover (D) as described previously, and take out the water filter (M) by the special hand grip (

).
• Remove the filter cover (I) by gently pulling it downwards (L) and take out the protective filter (
23
).
• Rinse the “Magic filter” thoroughly under running water and leave to dry perfectly before fitting it together with the other
parts, following the above steps in reverse order.
WARNING: The filter(L) should be cleaned after every use and if it appears to be worn, it should be
replaced with the spare filter provided.

TROUBLESHOOTING...
PROBLEM
POSSIBLE REMEDY
General (for all functions)
The appliance will not start
Make sure that the appliance is correctly plugged in and that the indicator
lights are off. If the failure continues, contact an authorised repair service.
Vacuum cleaner (dry suction)
Dust is dispersed while it is being clea-
ned up
Make sure that the container and filter are correctly fitted.
Make sure that there is enough water in the container for dirty water.
VMake sure that the hose connector and/or attachments are not clogged with
dirt. If they are, remove and clean them or rinse them with water.
Make sure that the motor filter or “Magic filter” are not dirty or incorrectly fitted.
Suction power is slowly weakening or is
inadequate
Make sure that the “Magic filter” and motor filters are not clogged and clean
them if necessary.
Check to make sure that the openings, suction hose or suction manifold are
not clogged with dirt. If this is the case, move the hose during cleaning to
free it of dirt and dust.
Adjust the power using the special dial.
Make sure that the mechanical suction control on the handgrip is closed and
if not, close the tab on the handgrip.
Wet and dry cleaning
Suction power suddenly drops
Make sure that the dirty water container isn’t full. If this is not the case, empty
and clean it.
There is persistent and abnormal forma-
tion of foam in the dirty water container
Make sure to use original Ariete or a recommended detergent. Replace if
necessary.
No detergent is coming out although the
pump is on.
Make sure there is enough detergent inside the detergent tank (E). If not, fill it.
Make sure that the spray nozzle is not clogged. If this is not the case, rinse it
under running water, being careful of the parts it contains.
In the event that, even after filling with detergent or after cleaning, this prob-
lem should persist, then repeat the steps for first-time use and make sure that
the detergent dispensing dial is not set to OFF.
