SAVETHESEINSTRUCTIONS–Thismanualcontainsimportantinstructionsformodels
PowerWalkerVFD400/600/1000thatshouldbefollowedduringinstallationandmaintenance
oftheUPSandbatteries.
• ThisproductisspeciallydesignedforPCsanditisnotrecommendedforuseinanylife‐
supportingsystemandotherspecificimportantequipment.
• Thisequipmentcanbeoperatedbyanyindividualwithnoprevioustraining.
• DonotplughouseholdappliancessuchashairdryerstoUPSreceptacles.
• Thisunitintendedforinstallationinacontrolledenvironment(temperaturecontrolled,
indoorareafreeofconductivecontaminants).AvoidinstallingtheUPSinlocationswhere
thereisstandingorrunningwater,orexcessivehumidity.
• Risk of electric shock, do not remove cover. No user serviceable parts inside. Refer
servicing
toqualifiedservicepersonnel.
• Theutilitypoweroutletshallbeneartheequipmentandeasilyaccessible.ToisolateUPS
fromACinput,removetheplugfromtheutilitypoweroutlet.
• IfUPSistobestoredforalongtime, it isrecommendedto recharge the batteries(by
connecting
theutilitypowertoUPS,switch“ON”),onceamonthfor24hourstoavoida
fullbatterydischarge.
• PleasedonotusetheUPSinexcessoftheratedloadcapacity.
• The UPS contains one/two large‐capacity batteries. So the shell shall not be opened,
otherwise such
dangers as electric shock will be caused. If any internal overhaul or
replacementofthebatteryisrequired,pleasecontactthedistributor.
• TheinternalshortcircuitingoftheUPSwillleadtodangerssuchaselectricshockorfire,
therefore,nowatercontainers(suchasawaterglass)shallbe
placedonthetopofthe
UPSsoastoavoidsuchdangersaselectricshock.
• Donotdisposeofbatteryorbatteriesinafire.Thebatterymayexplode.
• Donotopenormutilatethebatteryorbatteries.Releasedelectrolyteisharmfultothe
skinandeyes.

• A battery can present a risk of electrical shock and high short circuit current. The
followingprecautionsshouldbeobservedwhenworkingonbatteries:
• Removewatches,rings,orothermetalobjectsfromthehand.
• Usetoolswithinsulatedhandles.

• Servicingofbatteriesshouldbeperformedorsupervisedbypersonnelknowledgeableof
batteries and the required precautions.Keep unauthorized personnel away from
batteries.
• Whenreplacingbatteries,replacewiththesametypeandnumberofthesealedlead‐acid
batteries.
• Themaximumambienttemperatureratingis40°C.
• This pluggable type A equipment with battery already installed by the supplier is
operatorinstallableandmaybeoperatedbylaymen.
• Duringtheinstallationofthisequipmentitshouldbeassuredthatthesumoftheleakage
currentsoftheUPSandtheconnectedloadsdoesnotexceed3.5mA.
• Attention, hazardous through electric shock. Also with disconnection of this unit from
the mains, hazardous voltage stillmay beaccessible through supply from battery.The
battery supply should be therefore disconnected in the plus and minus pole of the
batterywhenmaintenanceorserviceworkinsidetheUPSis
necessary.
• ThemainssocketoutletthatsuppliestheUPSshallbeinstalledneartheUPSandshallbe
easilyaccessible.
• In case smoke is found coming out from the device, please cut off the power supply
quicklyandcontactthedistributor.
• Donotkeeporusethisproduct
inanyofthefollowingenvironments:
o Anyareawithcombustiblegas,corrosivesubstanceorheavydust.
o Anyarea with extraordinarily high or low temperature (above40˚C or below
0˚C)andhumidityofmorethan90%.
o Anyareaexposedtodirectsunshineornearanyheating
apparatus.
o Anyareawithseriousvibrations.
o Outdoor.
• Intheeventthatthereisfireoccurringinthevicinity,pleaseusedry‐powerextinguishers.
Theuseofliquidextinguishersmaygiverisetothedangerofelectricshock.

2. Installationandoperation
Inspection
RemovetheUPSfromitspackagingandinspectitfordamagethatmayhaveoccurredduring
shipping.Ifanydamageisdiscovered,repacktheunitandreturnittotheplaceofpurchase.
Charging
Thisunitisshippedfromthefactorywithitsinternalbatteryfullycharged,however,some
chargemaybelostduringshippingandthebatteryshouldberechargedpriortouse.Plug
the unit into an appropriatepowersupply andallowthe UPS tochargefully by leaving it
plugged in for
at least 10 hours with no load (no electrical devices such as computers,
monitors,etc.)connected.
Placement
InstalltheUPSunitinanyprotectedenvironmentthatprovidesadequateairflowaroundthe
unit,andisfreefromexcessivedust,corrosivefumesandconductivecontaminants.Donot
operateyourUPSinanenvironmentwheretheambienttemperatureorhumidityishigh.

ComputerConnection
PlugtheUPSintoa2‐pole,3‐wiregroundedreceptacle.Thenconnectonecomputer‐related
deviceintoeachofthepowerreceptaclessuppliedonthebackoftheUPS.
Modem/NetworkConnection
Plug incoming internet line into the “In” socket at the back of the UPS. Use one more
InternetlinecableandplugoneendoftheInternetlinecabletothe“Out”socketatthe
backoftheUPS.Plugtheotherendtothemodeminputsocketasshown.

TurnOn/Off
PresstheswitchoftheUPScontinuouslyfor1secondandtheUPSturnsintoitsnormalstate
(thegreenlightisonandthebeeperisoff)afteritperformsaself‐diagnosis(thebeeperand
theredandgreenindicatorlightsareon)forseveralseconds.Atthis
time,usermayturnonthe
PCandotherloads.PresstheswitchoftheUPScontinuouslyfor1secondtoturnofftheUPS.
Note:
• For the convenience of maintenance, please turn onthe UPS first beforeturningon
thePCandtheotherloads,andturnoffthe
UPSaftertheloadsareturnedoff.
• At ordinary times, we recommend to remain the UPS on with the battery charging
(eveniftheloadsareturnedoff),whichisbenefittothemaintenanceofthebattery.
