Between ingenious modifications made by

members of the analogue community and

the success of the Instant Back for our Belair

Camera – we spotted a gap in the market. Since

the disappearance of 4×5 peel-apart Instant

film production, large format photographers

have been known to go through a lot of trouble

to get their hands on expired films instead, so

we set about inventing the LomoGraflok Instant

Back for 4×5 cameras using Fujifilm Instax Wide

film – the most widely available and cost-

effective instant film on the market, it’s easy to

use and perfect for testing and experimenting.

Large format photography just got a whole lot

easier, less expensive, and more accessible!

instRUCtions foR Use

BATTERY INSTALLATION

The LomoGraok operates with 4 × AA batteries (4 × 1.5 V).

1. Open the Battery Door [6] by sliding the Battery Door [6] outward.

2. Insert 4 × AA fresh batteries according to the indication inside

the Battery Door [6].

3. Slide back and close the Battery Door [6] in place.

FILM INSTALLATION

Use only Fujilm Instax Wide lm with LomoGraok.

1. Open the Back Door [9] by lifting the Back Door Lock [11].

2. Match the yellow mark on the Fujilm Instax Wide lm with the

Yellow Mark [10] inside the Film Chamber and install the lm

pack.

3. Close the Back Door [9].

4. Switch on the LomoGraok by switching the On/Off Switch [1].

5. Press the Film Ejection Button [2] to eject the black card of the

lm pack.

6. Your LomoGraok is now ready to use.

OPERATING LOMOGRAFLOK 4×5 INSTANT BACK

1. Slide in the Film Plane Calibration & Mask Attachment [13]

between the ground glass on your 4×5 camera and camera

body (the slot for inserting standard 4×5 lm holder).

2. Open the lens/camera shutter, adjust the camera bellows length

until you see an approximate sharp image on the ground glass

and focus your subject in detail.

3. Close the lens/camera shutter.

4. Remove the Film Plane Calibration & Mask Attachment [13].

5. Install the LomoGraok onto the Graok back of your 4×5 camera.

If the spring back on your camera can open 50 mm or more, you

may also simply slide in the LomoGraok for shooting.

6. Switch on the LomoGraok by switching the On/Off Switch [1].

7. Remove the Dark Slide [4] from the back.

8. Release the shutter and shoot.

9. Put back the Dark Slide [4].

10. Detach LomoGraok from the Camera.

11. Press the Film Ejection Button [2] to eject the lm.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Q: The LomoGraok is functioning but the lm does not eject after

the Film Ejection Button [2] is pressed.

A: Please check the following:

• Make sure that there is lm installed in the camera.

• Check the Film Counter Window [8] to see if your lm has

come to an end.

• Make sure the LomoGraok is not set to “Off”.

• Check the battery power by checking the battery light inside

the Film Counter Window [8]. If it is not lit up, that means

your camera is running out of battery. You should insert fresh

batteries.

Q: I focused on the ground glass well but the photo is out of focus.

A: Make sure the Film Plane Calibration & Mask Attachment [13] is

installed correctly while focusing and the LomoGraok is

installed correctly on the camera while shooting.

BATTERIEN EINLEGEN

Das LomoGraok arbeitet mit 4 × AA Batterien (4 × 1.5 V).

1. Öffne das Batteriefach [6] indem Du die Klappe [6] nach

außen schiebst.

2. Lege, entsprechend den Anweisungen auf der Innenseite des

Batteriefaches, neue 4 × AA Batterien ein.

3. Schiebe die Klappe [6] zurück.

FILM EINLEGEN

Benutze mit dem LomoGraok nur Fujilm Instax Wide Film.

1. Öffne den Rückdeckel [9] indem Du den Verschluss des Rück-

teils [11] anhebst.

2. Richte die gelbe Markierung des Fujilm Instax Wide Films an

der gelben Markierung [10] in der Filmkammer aus und lege

den Film ein.

3. Schließe den Rückdeckel [9].

4. Schalte das LomoGraok mit dem An/Aus Schalter [1] ein.

5. Drücke den Filmauswurfknopf [2] um die schwarze Karte des

Filmpacks auszuwerfen.

6. Dein LomoGraok ist nun bereit für ein Shooting.

ARBEITEN MIT DEM LOMOGRAFLOK 4×5 INSTANT BACK

1. Schiebe den Filmebenen-Kalibrier- und Maskenaufsatz [13]

zwischen die Mattscheibe Deiner 4×5-Kamera und das

Kameragehäuse (den Schlitz zum Einsetzen des Standard-

4×5-Filmhalters).

2. Öffnen Sie das Objektiv/den Kameraverschluss, stelle die Bal-

genlänge der Kamera ein, bis Du ein annähernd scharfes Bild

auf der Mattscheibe siehst und fokussiere das Motiv im Detail.

3. Schließe das Objektiv/den Kameraverschluss.

4. Entferne den den Filmebenen-Kalibrier- und Maskenaufsatz [13].

5. Installiere das LomoGraok auf dem Graok-Rückteil Deiner

4×5 Kamera. Wenn das Graok-Back Deiner Kamera 50 mm oder

mehr öffnen kann, kannst Du das LomoGraok auch einfach zum

Fotograeren einschieben.

6. Schalte das LomoGraok mit dem An/Aus Schalter [1] ein.

7. Entferne den Dunkelschieber [4] von der Rückseite.

8. Drücke den Auslöser und schieße Dein Foto.

9. Lege den Dunkelschieber [4] wieder ein.

10. Nimm das LomoGraok von der Kamera ab.

11. Drücke den Filmauswurfknopf [2] um das Foto auszuwerfen.

PROBLEMLÖSUNGEN

F: Das LomoGraok funktioniert, aber der Film wird nicht

ausgeworfen, nachdem die Filmauswurftaste [2] gedrückt

wurde.

A: Bitte kontrolliere Folgendes:

• Stelle sicher, dass sich Film in der Kamera bendet.

• Kontrolliere den Filmzähler [8] um zu sehen, ob Dein Film schon

leer ist.

• Stelle sicher, dass das LomoGraok eingeschaltet ist.

• Überprüfe die Batterieleistung, über das Batterielicht im Film-

zählerfenster [8]. Wenn sie nicht leuchtet, bedeutet das, dass

die Batterien leer sind. Du solltest neue Batterien einlegen.

F: Ich habe gut auf die Mattscheibe fokussiert, aber das Foto

ist unscharf.

A: Vergewissere Dich, dass der Filmebenen-Kalibrier- und

Maskenaufsatz [13] während der Fokussierung richtig

angebracht ist und das LomoGraok während der Aufnahme

richtig auf der Kamera installiert ist.

F: Der Film entwickelt sich bei sehr niedrigen Temperaturen (<5 °C)

nicht normal.

A: Halte den Film nach dem Auswerfen mit der Hand warm,

achte darauf, dass Du keinen Druck auf den Film ausübst oder

ihn verbiegst.

F: Auf dem Foto erscheinen helle Punkte, die auf verschiedenen

Fotos an der gleichen Stelle auftreten.

A: Öffne die hintere Klappe [9] Deines LomoGraok und überprüfe

die Walze, die sich in der Nähe des Filmauswurfschlitzes [7]

bendet, um sicherzustellen, dass sie sauber und frei von Staub

und Schmutz ist. Reinige die Walze vorsichtig, falls erforderlich.
