Usingthelatestwirelessnetworkingtechnology,theadapteraddsorupgrades

wirelessconnectivityonyourWindows-baseddesktoporlaptopcomputer.To

helpprotectyourdataandprivacy,youcanconfigureyourhomenetworkand

thisadaptertouseWi-FiProtectedAccess2(WPA2)encryption.

Toinstalltheadapter:

InserttheCDintoyourCDorDVDdrive.

2. 

ForWindows8,click

Tap to choose what happens to this disc

inthe

upper-rightcornerofthescreen.

Set up your Linksys Adapter

Ifyoudonotseeapop-upmenufortheCD,accessSetupontheCD

directly.ToaccesstheCD,performthefollowingstepsforyouroperating

buttononyourwirelessrouter,gateway,

oraccesspoint.

Withintwominutes,pressandholdthe

Wi-Fi Protected Setup

button

onthesideofyouradapterforatleastthreeseconds.TheLEDflashes

whileconnecting,thenstayssolidwhentheconnectioniscomplete.

Ifyourcomputerhasawirelessnetworkconfigurationutilityinstalled,referto

thatutility’sdocumentationforinstructions.

New Wireless Connection

To connect to a different wireless network:

1. 

Moveyourmousepointertothelower-rightcornerofthescreen,then

click

Settings

.

2. 

Clickthewirelessnetworkicon  .The

Network 

menuopens,showing

youavailablewirelessnetworksandyourcurrentconnectionstatus.

3. 

Ifprompted,enteranyadditionalrequirednetworkinformation(suchas

password).

icon,clickthe

Whenyourmousepointerhoversovertheicon,thestatusinformationof

yourwirelessconnectionappears.

New Wireless Connection

To connect to a different wireless network:

1. 

Clickthe

Wireless Network Configuration

utilityicon.Alistofavailable

wirelessnetworksappears.

2. 

Selectyournetwork,andthenclick

Connect

.

If your network does not use wireless security, your computer now

connectstothewirelessnetwork,andyouaredone.

Your computer does not recognize the adapter.

•

Makesurethattheadapterisproperlyinsertedintoyourcomputer’sUSB

port.

•

ConnecttheadapterintoadifferentUSBport.

Your  computer  cannot  communicate  with  the  other  computers  on  your 

wireless network.

•

Makesurethatthecomputersarepoweredon.

•

MakesurethattheadapterisconfiguredwiththesameWirelessNetwork

Name(alsocalledtheSSIDorServiceSetIdentifier)andwirelesssecurity

settingsastheothercomputersonyourwirelessnetwork.
