INTRODUCTIONINTRODUCTION
The GPS01 connector is a GPS receiver with Bluetooth® interface and a highly sensitive
built-in antenna. The GPS01 connector is suitable for navigation systems based on smart-
phones or PDA’s with Bluetooth® wireless technology and has to be used in combination
with the audio connector GPS series for mr Handsfree carkit Genius that correspond to your
smartphone or PDA. It provides a wide variety of applications for car navigation combined
with a superior sound quality of navigation voice prompts, a full duplex handsfree function
and an intelligent charging function.
OVERVIEWOVERVIEW
The GPS01 connector includes a GPS receiver with antenna, a Bluetooth® adapter and two
LEDs for indication.

1. Bluetooth® status LED (blue): This LED is lighting continuously when the GPS01 con-
nector is connected to another Bluetooth® device.
2. GPS status LED (white): This LED indicates when the GPS position is fixed.
3. Power socket: Used for connecting the corresponding audio connector.
4. 3 latches: Used for fixing the audio connector.
The GPS01 connector is used only in combination with audio connectors GPSxxxx series.

The audio connectors have to be purchased separately according to your smartphone or
PDA model.

• Connect the audio connector (1) to the GPS01 connector (2), and make sure that the
power sockets of both connectors match. Make sure that all three latches are clicked
and that the audio connector is well fixed.
• Connect the assembled connector to the Genius main unit (3).
• Place the Genius main unit on the main unit holder.
USE OF THE GPS01 CONNECTORUSE OF THE GPS01 CONNECTOR
The GPS antenna has to link to at least 4 satellites to find its location. This process is started
once the Navigation Carkit is powered on. The location of the GPS antenna is under the
carkit. This is not the optimal location. However, the 3rd generation technology will make

sure that the antenna will find the satellite information, even when your car has metal film
windows.
This search and link process will take some time. This time will vary from less than one
minute (hot start, all information about the satellites is still in the memory) till several
minutes.
Attention:
The very first time the Navigation Carkit is powered on, it can take about 15 minutes
to catch the satellites.
For smartphones with built-in Bluetooth® wireless technology
(Example: Nokia 6670)
1. Select the Navigation menu and run the navigation software on your smartphone.
2. Select GPS devices in the software menu to look for available GPS receivers and select
“Genius GPS01”. The connection will be achieved automatically and the blue LED indi-
cator will light accordingly.
3. As soon as the GPS location is fixed, the white LED indicator will light up.
4. Connect your smartphone with the audio connector and fix the phone in the carkit
Genius holder.
5. The navigation voice prompts will be audible via the carkit’s speaker (If your navigation
software supports this feature).
6. At the same time your smartphone will be charged via the corded connector.

For PDA’s with built-in Bluetooth® wireless technology (Example:
HP iPAQ hw6515d)
1. Refer to the user manual of your PDA to enable the Bluetooth® wireless technology to
be able to connect to the Genius GPS01 connector. Select “Genius GPS01” Bluetooth®
device with SPP slave service. Some PDA’s may ask for the Bluetooth® passkey. The
Bluetooth® passkey is “1111”.
2. Check the number of the COM port used by Bluetooth® (For example: with the iPAQ it
could be the input port COM8).
3. Run the suitable navigation software and select the corresponding Bluetooth® device
(or COM port).

The conditions of this limited guarantee and the extent of responsibility of mr Handsfree under this limited
guarantee are as follows:
• This guarantee is limited to the original purchaser of the product and is not transferable to any subse-
quent purchaser/end user.
• During the limited guarantee period, the sole responsibility of mr Handsfree will be limited to repair
or replace, at its option, any defective parts of the product if this is needed because of malfunction or
failure under normal use and conditions. No charge shall be made to the customer for parts and/or
repair labor.
• The product must be shipped to an authorized service center in its original and complete packaging,
with transportation charges prepaid. Mr Handsfree will not assume responsibility for any losses or
damages during transportation.
• To obtain repair or replacement within the terms of this guarantee, the customer must provide (a) a
proof of purchase (e.g. dated bill of sale); (b) a written specification of the defect(s); (c) a return ad-
dress and phone number.
• This limited guarantee does not cover and is void with respect to the following:
(a) Products which have been subjected to improper installation, unauthorized repair, improper main-
tenance, unauthorized modifications or other acts which are not the fault of mr Handsfree; (b) Products
which have been subjected to misuse, abuse, neglect, improper handling and storage, an accident or
physical damage; (c) Products which have been subjected to fire, water, excessive humidity, sand, dirt,
extreme changes in temperature or other conditions which are beyond the control of mr Handsfree;
(d) Products which have been used with non-mr Handsfree approved accessories; (e) Products which
have the serial number altered, defaced or removed; (f) Products which have been opened, altered,
repaired or modified by any unauthorized service center.
• Excluded from any guarantee are consumable items which may need replacing due to normal wear
and tear, such as batteries, headset ear cushions, decorative parts and other accessories.
• This limited guarantee gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary
from country to country.

INLEIDINGINLEIDING
De GPS01 connector is een GPS ontvanger met Bluetooth® interface en een erg gevoe-
lige ingebouwde antenne. De GPS01 connector is geschikt voor navigatiesystemen van
smart phones of PDA’s die uitgerust zijn met Bluetooth® technologie en dient gebruikt te
worden in combinatie met de audioconnector GPS series voor mr Handsfree carkit Genius,
die geschikt zijn voor uw smart phone of PDA. De GPS01 connector biedt een brede waaier
aan toepassingen voor navigatie, gecombineerd met een superieure geluidskwaliteit van de
navigatiestem, een full duplex handsfree functie en een intelligente oplaadfunctie.
OVERZICHTOVERZICHT
De GPS01 connector bestaat uit een GPS ontvanger met antenne, een Bluetooth® adapter
en twee LED indicatielampjes.

1. Bluetooth® status LED (blauw): Dit lampje brandt voortdurend wanneer de GPS01 con-
nector verbonden is met een ander Bluetooth® toestel.
2. GPS status LED (wit): Dit lampje geeft aan dat de GPS positie bepaald is.
3. Stroomaansluiting: Om de audioconnector op aan te sluiten.
4. 3 vergrendelingen: Om de audioconnector vast te klikken.
De GPS01 connector wordt enkel gebruikt in combinatie met de audioconnector GPSxxxx

series. De audioconnectors dienen apart aangekocht te worden naargelang het type van uw
smart phone of PDA.

• Verbind de audioconnector (1) met de GPS01 connector (2), en zorg ervoor dat de
stroomaansluitingen van beide connectors overeenkomen. Zorg ervoor dat de 3 ver-
grendelingen allemaal vastklikken en dat de audioconnector goed vastzit.
• Verbind de connector met de Genius hoofdeenheid (3).
• Plaats de Genius hoofdeenheid op de houder voor de hoofdeenheid.
GEBRUIK VAN DE GPS01 CONNECTORGEBRUIK VAN DE GPS01 CONNECTOR
De GPS antenne moet een verbinding maken met minstens 4 satellieten om de positie te
kunnen bepalen. Dit proces begint zodra de Navigation Carkit aangeschakeld wordt. De
GPS antenne bevindt zich onder de carkit. Dit is niet de optimale locatie, maar de technolo-

gie van de 3e generatie zorgt ervoor dat de antenne de satellietinformatie ontvangt, zelfs
wanneer uw wagen ruiten heeft die voorzien zijn van een metaallaag.
Dit zoeken naar een verbinding neemt enige tijd in beslag. Dit varieert van minder dan 1
minuut (warme start, alle informatie over de satellieten is nog opgeslagen in het geheugen)
tot enkele minuten.
Let op:
De eerste keer dat de Navigation Carkit aangeschakeld wordt, kan het ongeveer 15
duren om de satellieten te vinden.
Voor smart phones met geàntegreerde Bluetooth® technologie
(Bijvoorbeeld: Nokia 6670)
1. Selecteer het Navigatiemenu en activeer de navigatiesoftware op uw smart phone.
2. Selecteer GPS toestellen in het software menu om te zoeken naar beschikbare GPS
ontvangers en selecteer vervolgens “Genius GPS01”. De verbinding zal automatisch
gemaakt worden en het blauwe LED indicatielampje zal branden.
3. Zodra de GPS positie bepaald is, zal het witte LED indicatielampje beginnen te
branden.
4. Verbind uw smart phone met de audioconnector en bevestig de telefoon in de houder
van de carkit Genius.
5. De navigatiestem wordt weergegeven via de luidspreker van de carkit (Indien uw navi-
gatiesoftware deze functie ondersteunt).
6. Ondertussen wordt uw smart phone opgeladen via de connector.

Voor PDA’s met geàntegreerde Bluetooth® technologie (Bijvoor-
beeld: HP iPAQ hw6515d)
1. Raadpleeg de handleiding van uw PDA om de Bluetooth® technologie te activeren en
een verbinding te maken met de GPS01 connector. Selecteer “Genius GPS01” als
Bluetooth® toestel met “SPP slave service”. Sommige PDA’s kunnen u om de Blue-
tooth® Pincode vragen. De Bluetooth® Pincode is “1111”.
2. Controleer het nummer van de COM poort die gebruikt wordt door Bluetooth® (Bijvoor-
beeld: met de iPAQ kan het poort COM8 zijn).
3. Activeer de geschikte navigatiesoftware en selecteer het overeenkomstige Bluetooth®
toestel (of COM poort).

De voorwaarden van deze beperkte garantie en de omvang van de verantwoordelijkheid van mr Handsfree
onder deze garantie zijn als volgt:
• De garantie geldt alleen voor de originele (eerste) eigenaar en is niet overdraagbaar aan een volgende
koper.
• De enige verplichting van mr Handsfree onder deze garantie beperkt zich tot het repareren of ver-
vangen, naar eigen keuze, van defecte onderdelen van het product, indien dit vereist is omwille van
gebreken die voorkomen bij normaal gebruik onder normale omstandigheden. De klant dient niet te
betalen voor onderdelen en/of arbeidskosten.
• Het defecte product moet verzonden worden naar een geautoriseerd service center in de originele en
volledige verpakking. Transportkosten zijn voor rekening van de klant. Mr Handsfree is niet aanspra-
kelijk voor verlies of schade tijdens het transport.
• Om recht te hebben op reparatie of vervanging van het product binnen de garantieperiode dient de
klant het volgende te verstrekken: (a) een aankoopbewijs met vermelding van de aankoopdatum; (b)
een duidelijke omschrijving van de gebreken; (c) een adres en telefoonnummer.
• Deze beperkte garantie geldt niet voor:
(a) Producten die blootgesteld werden aan verkeerde installatie, onrechtmatige herstellingen, slecht
onderhoud, onrechtmatige aanpassingen of andere daden die niet de fout zijn van mr Handsfree;
(b) Producten die blootgesteld werden aan misbruik, verwaarlozing, onzorgvuldige behandeling en
opslag, een ongeval of materiële schade; (c) Producten die blootgesteld werden aan brand, water,
extreme vochtigheid, zand, stof, extreme temperatuurschommelingen of andere omstandigheden bui-
ten de controle van mr Handsfree; (d) Producten die gebruikt werden met accessoires die niet door
mr Handsfree goedgekeurd werden; (e) Producten waarvan het serienummer gewijzigd, onleesbaar
of verwijderd is; (f) Producten die geopend, gewijzigd of gerepareerd werden door een niet door mr
Handsfree geautoriseerd service center.
• Uitgesloten van elke vorm van garantie zijn gebruiksonderdelen die vervangen moeten worden door
normale slijtage, zoals batterijen, oorkussentjes, decoratieve onderdelen en andere accessoires.
• Deze beperkte garantie geeft u specifieke wettelijke rechten, en mogelijk heeft u nog andere rechten
die van land tot land kunnen verschillen.

Le connecteur GPS01 est un récepteur GPS avec interface Bluetooth® doté d’une antenne
intégrée Ñ haute sensibilité. Le connecteur GPS01 est conçu pour les systÙmes de navi-
gation basés sur les Smart Phones ou les PDA avec technologie Bluetooth® sans fil; il
doit Ûtre utilisé en association avec la série de connecteurs audio GPS pour mr Handsfree

tion permettra Ñ l’antenne de trouver les informations satellite, mÛme si votre voiture dispose
de fenÛtres Ñ film métallique.
Ce processus de recherche et de liaison prend un certain temps. Ce temps varie de moins
d’une minute (démarrage Ñ chaud, toutes les informations relatives aux satellites sont en-
core en mémoire) Ñ plusieurs minutes.
Attention :
La toute première fois que le Navigation Carkit est mis en marche, 15 minutes peuvent
s’avérer nécessaire au repérage des satellites.
Pour Smart Phones avec technologie sans fil Bluetooth® intégrée
(Exemple : Nokia 6670)
1. Sélectionnez le menu de navigation et exécutez le logiciel de navigation sur votre Smart
Phone.
2. Sélectionnez les dispositifs GPS du menu du logiciel pour chercher les récepteurs GPS
disponibles et sélectionnez «Genius GPS01». La connexion se fera automatiquement
et le voyant bleu s’allumera en conséquence.
3. DÙs que l’emplacement GPS est déterminé, le voyant blanc s’allume.
4. Branchez votre Smart Phone au connecteur audio et fixez le téléphone sur le support
du kit mains-libres Genius.
5. Les annonces vocales de navigation seront audibles via le haut parleur du kit mains-
libres (si votre logiciel de navigation prend en charge cette fonctionnalité).
6. Votre Smart Phone se chargera en mÛme temps via le connecteur câblé.

findlicher integrierter Antenne. Der GPS01 Connector eignet sich für Navigationssysteme von
Smartphones oder PDA in der drahtlosen Bluetooth®-Technologie und muss in Kombination
mit dem Audio Connector der GPS-Serien für mr Handsfree Carkit Genius, der mit Ihrem
Smartphone oder PDA kommuniziert, verwendet werden. Er bietet viele Anwendungsmö-
glichkeiten für Reisen mit dem Wagen in Kombination mit hervorragender Klangqualität der
Stimmbefehle, einer Vollduplex-Freisprechfunktion und einer intelligenten Ladefunktion.

dafür, dass die Steckdosen beider Connectoren passen. Sorgen Sie dafür, dass alle
drei Verschlüsse eingeklickt sind und das der Audioconnector gut befestigt ist.
• Verbinden Sie den montierten Connector mit dem Genius-Hauptgerät (3).
• Stecken Sie das Genius-Hauptgerät in die Halterung.

Die GPS Antenne muss mit mindestens 4 Satelliten Verbindung haben um ihren Standort zu
finden. Dieser Prozess startet, wenn der Navigation Carkit angeschaltet wird. Der Standort der

GPS-Antenne befindet sich unter dem Carkit. Das ist nicht der optimale Standort. Jedoch sorgt
die Technologie der 3. Generation dafür, dass die Antenne die Satelliteninformation findet, auch
wenn Ihr Fahrzeug metallbeschichtete Fenster hat.
Diese Suche und Verbindung kann einige Zeit dauern. Diese Zeit variiert zwischen weniger als
einer Minute (Warmstart, alle Informationen zu den Satelliten sind noch im Speicher) bis zu
einige Minuten.
Achtung:
Wenn der Naviagation Carkit zum ersten Mal eingeschaltet wird, kann es bis zu 15 Mi-
nuten dauern, bis die Satelliten gefunden sind.
Für Smartphones mit integrierter Bluetooth®-Technologie
(Beispiel: Nokia 6670)
1. Selektieren Sie das Navigationsmenü und starten Sie die Navigationssoftware Ihres
Smartphones.
2. Selektieren Sie GPS-Geräte im Softwaremenü, die verfügbare GPS-Empfänger
suchen sollen und selektieren Sie “Genius GPS01”. Die Verbindung wird automatisch
hergestellt und die blaue LED-Anzeige leuchtet entsprechend.
3. Sobald der GPS-Standort gefunden ist, leuchtet die weiße LED auf.
4. Verbinden Sie Ihr Smartphone mit dem Audioconnector und befestigen Sie das Telefon
im Halter des Genius Carkit.
5. Die Navigationsstimme ertönt über den Lautsprecher des Carkits (Wenn Ihre Naviga-
tionssoftware diese Funktion unterstützt).
6. Gleichzeitig wird Ihr Smartphone über den angeschlossenen Connector geladen.

L’antenna GPS deve collegarsi ad almeno 4 satelliti per trovare la propria posizione. Questo
processo si avvia accendendo il Navigation Carkit. L’antenna GPS Ù posizionata sotto il
carkit. Non Ù la posizione ottimale. Tuttavia, la tecnologia della terza generazione verificherÑ
che l’antenna trovi le informazioni del satellite, anche nel caso in cui l’automobile presenti
finestrini con pellicola metallica.
La procedura di ricerca e collegamento dura da meno di un minuto (“hot start”, tutte le infor-
mazioni sui satelliti sono ancora in memoria) ad alcuni minuti.
Attenzione:
La prima volta che il Navigation Carkit viene acceso, può impiegare circa 15 minuti
per prendere i satelliti.
Per smartphones con tecnologia Bluetooth® integrata (Esempio:
Nokia 6670)
1. Selezionare il menu di navigazione ed eseguire il software di navigazione sul proprio
smartphone.
2. Selezionare dispositivi GPS nel menu del software per cercare ricevitori GPS disponibili
e selezionare “Genius GPS01”. La connessione sarÑ realizzata automaticamente e il
LED blu si accenderÑ di conseguenza.
3. Appena viene fissata la posizione GPS, il LED bianco si accende.

• Conecte el conector de audio (1) al conector GPS01 (2), y asegúrese de que las tomas
de alimentación de ambos conectores encajan. Asegúrese de que los tres pestillos
están encajados y que el conector de audio está bien fijado.
• Conecte el conector montado a la unidad principal del carkit Genius (3).
• Coloque la unidad principal del carkit Genius en el soporte de la unidad principal.

La antena GPS tiene que vincularse al menos a 4 satélites para encontrar su ubicación. Este
proceso empieza una vez encendido el Navigation Carkit. La colocación de la antena GPS

es debajo del kit manos libres. Esta no es la colocación óptima. No obstante, con la tec-
nología de 3 generación se asegurará que la antena encuentre la información del satélite,
incluso cuando el coche tenga ventillas con película metálica.
Este proceso de búsqueda y vinculación tardará algún tiempo. Este tiempo variará desde
menos de un minuto (encendido en caliente, toda la información sobre los satélites todavía
está en la memoria) hasta varios minutos.
Atención:
La primera vez que se encienda el Navigation Carkit, puede tardar unos 15 minutos
en coger los satélites.
Para teléfonos inteligentes con tecnología Bluetooth® incorpo-
rada (Ejemplo: Nokia 6670)
1. Seleccione el menú de Navegación y ejecute el software de navegación en su teléfono
inteligente.
2. Seleccione los dispositivos GPS en el menú del software para buscar los receptores
GPS disponibles y seleccione “Genius GPS01”. Se conseguirá la conexión automáti-
camente y se encenderá el indicador LED azul en consecuencia.
3. Tan pronto como se fije la ubicación GPS, se encenderá el indicador LED blanco.
4. Conecte su teléfono inteligente con el conector del audio y fije el teléfono en el soporte
del carkit Genius.
5. El indicador de voz de navegación se oirá por medio del altavoz del kit manos libres (Si
su software de navegación soporta esta característica).
6. Al mismo tiempo se cargará su teléfono inteligente por medio del conector con cable.

Para PDAs con tecnología Bluetooth® incorporada (Ejemplo:
HP iPAQ hw6515d)
1. Consulte el manual de usuario de su PDA para activar la tecnología inalámbrica Blue-
tooth® para poder conectarlo al conector Genius GPS01. Seleccione el dispositivo
Bluetooth® “Genius GPS01” con servicio SPP. Algunos PDAs pueden pedir la con-
traseâa Bluetooth®. La contraseâa Bluetooth® es “1111”.
2. Compruebe el número del puerto COM usado por Bluetooth® (Por ejemplo: con el iPAQ
podría ser el puerto de entrada COM8).
3. Ejecute el software de navegación adecuado y seleccione el dispositivo Bluetooth®
correspondiente (o el puerto COM).

O adaptador GPS01 é um receptor GPS com interface Bluetooth® e antena interna de alta
sensibilidade. O adaptador GPS01 é apropriado para sistemas de navegaçÔo baseada em
SmartPhones ou PDA’s com tecnologia sem fios Bluetooth® e combinado com o adaptador
de áudio da série GPS para mr Handsfree carkit Genius adequado ao seu SmartPhone ou
PDA. Disponibiliza uma grande variedade de aplicaçæes para navegaçÔo combinada com
uma superior qualidade de som mediante comandos de voz, funçÔo mÔos-livres em full
duplex e sistema de carregamento inteligente.

O adaptador GPS01 é usado somente em combinaçÔo com os adaptadores de áudio das
séries GPSxxxx. O adaptador de áudio deverá ser adquirido separadamente de acordo com

A antena GPS tem que ligar a pelo menos 4 satélites para encontrar a sua posiçÔo. Este
processo é iniciado logo que o Navigation Carkit é alimentado. A localizaçÔo da antena

GPS está abaixo o kit de viatura. Esta nÔo é a melhor posiçÔo, contudo a tecnologia de 3
geraçÔo certificar-se-á que a antena encontrará a informaçÔo do satélite mesmo que o seu
carro tenha janelas com películas de metal.
Este processo de procura e ligaçÔo demorará algum tempo. Este tempo poderá variar de
menos de 1 minuto (início rápido, todas as informaçæes do satélite estÔo ainda na memória)
até alguns minutos.
Atenção:
A primeira vez que o Navigation Carkit é alimentado, poderá demorar cerca de 15
minutos para sintonizar os satélites.
Para SmartPhones com tecnologia sem fios Bluetooth® integrada
(Exemplo: Nokia 6670)
1. Seleccione o menu de NavegaçÔo e arranque a aplicaçÔo no seu SmartPhone.
2. No menu da aplicaçÔo, seleccione dispositivos GPS para procurar os receptores GPS
e em seguida seleccione “Genius GPS01”. A ligaçÔo será executada automaticamente,
o LED indicador azul iluminar-se-á.
3. Assim que a posiçÔo GPS for fixada, o LED indicador branco ficará iluminado.
4. Ligue o seu SmartPhone ao adaptador áudio e pouse o telemóvel no suporte do carkit
Genius.
5. As instruçæes de navegaçÔo por voz serÔo audíveis através do altifalante do kit de
viatura (Se o software de navegaçÔo suportar esta facilidade).
6. Ao mesmo tempo o seu SmartPhone será carregado através do cabo de ligaçÔo.

1. Consulte o manual do utilizador do seu PDA para activar a tecnologia sem fios Blue-
tooth® e autorizar a ligaçÔo do adaptador Genius GPS01. Seleccione o dispositivo
“Genius GPS01” Bluetooth® com o serviço SPP. Alguns PDA’s poderÔo solicitar o
código do Bluetooth®. O código por defeito do Bluetooth® é “1111”.
2. Verifique o número da porta COM usada pelo Bluetooth® (Por exemplo: com o iPAQ
poderá ser a porta de entrada COM8).
3. Arranque a aplicaçÔo de navegaçÔo e seleccione o correspondente dispositivo Blue-
tooth® (ou porta COM).
